*Stands outside the stable block, hands on hips, looking over the frost covered grounds in the crisp morning air*
*shakes head at the scorched remnants of Lucius' orchard* *mutters to self* Hopefully that will be the end of the blasted dragon!

*walks up to the stables from the Manor a smile on her face. There was nothing she liked better than a cold early morning spent in the company of horses.*
Good morning Colonel
*she calls as she spots him out front of the stables*
Lovely morning is it not?
he surely does cut an impressive figure *thinks to herself*

*exhales slowly, watching breath mist in the chill air* *turns at the sound of a female voice*
Ahh, Charlotte... a fine morning indeed.
I trust you are here for your assessment? One would hope so, a cold morning such as this requires vigorous activity, wouldn't want you catching a cold now would we?

*laughs and smiles beautifully at him*
No indeed Sir it would be most unfortunate for one to be catching a chill, I am therefore at your mercy Colonel. Assess me as you will..
*stops a few feet from him, wrapping her cloak tighter around her shoulders*

*Eyes the cloak* For starters I think we can lose the cloak. You won't be needing it, trust me...
Shall we begin? *Gestures to the gate in the walls of the stable block*

*pulls of the cloak with a smile and heads in the direction he gestured*
Alright Colonel, if you say so, you are after all the boss here. What will the test consist of Sir?

*smiles* We'll obedience was the first test, which you are passing with flying colours.
*closes the gate behind them*
The others will vary.... cleanliness, depth of knowledge, your seat, handling skills, polishing - of the tack of course, thoughts on and acceptance of the crop, riding ability and positions. All of which I am sure you are well prepared for, however I am a particular man and can't have just anyone in my stables, I'm sure you'll understand that.

Of course Colonel, I would wish nothing more for my darling horse, and am only to happy to prove myself to yourself. What shall we start with?
*smiles as she looks around the impressive stable and is sure this is the perfect place for her baby*

Your eagerness is very beneficial to your assessment I must say.
*claps hands together*
Now, to business. First I should like to see some tasks completed without magical aid.... you never know when you might not be able to quickly affect something without magical aid.
*Glances around for inspiration and eyes settle on a couple of steel buckets near the water tap directly opposite to them*
So, I will stand here and observe your actions: I would like for you to pick up those buckets properly - bending over with slightly bent knees, wouldn't want you to do yourself any damage of course...

*smirks and looks at the buckets he pointed out*
If you say so Colonel...
*walks to the buckets and picks them up as she had done a hundred times in her own stables back home. She often preferred not to use magic when it came to her horses. She felt it took something from the experience and she didn't like that*
There we go, is there anywhere you would like me to take them, or shall I just put them down again?
*smiles*

*stands back appreciatively as she bends over the buckets*
*Ticks off 'Good Seat' on his mental list with a smile*
*Calls across* No, no that'll do fine. Just put them back in the same way....

*laughs and turning back around, replaces the buckets rather more slowly than necessary*
Ok, onward
*turns to face him once more*

Well as you can see my steed is out in these expansive grounds at present, I think considering the inclement weather we may carry out a few tests and scenarios indoors, I have sufficient equipment and conditions in my living quarters for the majority of issues I wish to assess.
*steps back a pace and refers to the stairs visible from inside the spacious (and immaculate) barn* After you.

*nods and a wicked twinkle passes over her eye for the smallest second as she looks at him*
As you wish Colonel
*Heads up the stairs*
I do wonder Sir, what it is you wish to have me prove to you in your private quarters
*grins as she reaches the top of the stairs*

Well initially you might show me what you're capable of, then there are issues regarding the crop, correct mounting technique, leatherwork, the list goes on... *with a knowing, dark look* as I'm sure you know.
