Practise roleplay - The Newbies Lounge

If you want to have a practise run, please post your roleplay in this thread. It's open to all - anyone can start, everyone can answer. It has NO effect on the storylines in the roleplay boards so whatever happens in here has no impact whatsoever. Newbies - please only make a maximum of 10 posts per member and stop as you soon as you feel ready to roleplay for real. If you don't feel ready yet after 10 posts then carry on until you do. Please be aware that not everyone will be immediately available to play with on this thread.

If you want to write something out of character, like say hi to another newbie or request someone to play then, or Mentors/staff to give OOC pointers, write the words in brackets. Please note that words in brackets is not allowed on the main RP boards.

Great for newbies to get together and introduce themselves and to get the hang of the way we roleplay.

Chelly sitting in a chair in the lounge, thinks of what to do to weasel when she gets to school. She smirks laughing at a thought that just hit her. She snorts, and looks up. 'Where's that pet of mine?' Bassy looks up from his sleeping position. Chelly "Sorry boy, forgot you where there."

*Walks into the lounge and spys the new girl*

Hello, I'm Millicent. May I ask who you are and what you are doing here?

Chelly looks up at the girl entering the room "I'm Chelly. Chelly Stone. I'm just here with Bassy- *Bassy looks up at his name* - thinking of what to do to weasel girl, when I get back to school.. Besides if Pothead found out if anything happened to her, he'd go nuts. I love watching those idiots freak out." Bassy slithers onto chelly and tries falling asleep on her neck. Chelly flicks her wand toward the fire place, letting a fire come up. "Care to sit with me?"

Pleased to meet you Chelly. *Sits next to her*

Beautiful snake you have there. What type is he?

(Who's Pothead? Do you mean Potter? If you do he's generally known as Scarhead by Slytherin's also, actions in RP are generally surrounded with a *. Try to put them on a seperate line to make them stand out a little)

(whoops, lol Pothead is just her neame for potter, whenever she see harry though, -unlikely- she does call him scarhead) Chelly "Bassy's a basilisk. I found him as a baby when I was too young for Hogwarts." Bassy contentedly falls asleep. Chelly smirks "If I become a death eater, I was thinking the Dark Lord, might want another Basilisk in The Chamber of Secrets. Besides, Scarhead did kill his last one, and I bet my big boy wants to take on that job. Don't ya boy?" Bassy poses in a position that scares unwanted students at Hogwarts. Chelly laughs "Here Bassy" *flicks wand giving a model of Hogwarts for him, with moving students* Bassy dives into it. Chelly smirks watching her pet play in the model.

(The model is just actually a cardboard box, charmed to look like Hogwarts, and the students are actually muggle dolls(like barbies) charmed to look like Hogwarts students)

Sounds like a good plan and he is cute.

(Nice idea about the Basilisk but arn't they supposed to be fatal if you look at them?)

((can you please explain about this in your profile before it goes up on the real roleplays? Plus, don't only basilisks only understand Parseltongue? is Chelly a Parseltongue? If she is, then you need to specify when she speaks that she is speaking in Parseltongue))

(That's ok but if only you can see him without dying, it might not be good for the others in the Mansion also it might be a good idea to change the writing to green when you speak in Parseltongue)

(please don't change canon rules regarding magical creatures, if he doesn't kill you when he looks you in the eye, then he is just a large serpent. Having a large serpent as a pet is just as interesting as having a Basilisk)
