*mutters under breath*
That's not the usual response I get...
*huffs to self*

Alright, we're all introduced now. Let's begin, shall we?
*picks up crystal ball and sets it back down again*
Before some of you actually see or just make up a vision...try to clear your mind from all thoughts...homework, friends, family...try to wash away all fears, longings, and trivialities.
Close your eyes. Try to think of absolutely nothing, not even yourself. Not even yourself trying to think about nothing.
*smiles softly*

*mutters about something, but really tries*
*closes her eyes and is immidately distracted, so opens then again*
*sighs and tries once more*

*closes eyes, fully knowing that he won't be able to clear his mind with Aurelie next to him*
*giggles to himself*
*stops giggling after Firenze stomps his hoof*
Sorry, Professor...

*clears throat and stares at Sebastian, slightly annoyed*
The task of emptying your mind demands silence. Now-- if you believe your mind is completely blank then look in the depths of your crystal.
*smiles encouragingly at all of them*
If anyone sees anything, anything at all...then you may be able to do more advanced Divination later. If you see anything, even a speck of silver or a swirl of color, please share it with the class.
*waits, swishing his tail as he watches the students*

*takes a moment to actually try to empty his mind*
*breathes deeply then looks into crystal*
Professor...I see a...urm...*looks sideways at Aurelie and then back*
*clears throat* I guess it was nothing...never mind...*pretends to look flustered*

*begins to see something, like a swish of yellow hair, but then it fades*
Oh...now what was that?

*looks into his own crystal and sees a blurry image of a certain bronzed beauty*
*yelps and turns away from his crystal*
*wants to distract the class from his crystal right now*
*turns to Holly*
What was it?

*trots over to Holly and Sebastian*
If you'd rather not say outloud, you can always write it down and turn it in. Either way, I'm afarid I have to know if you want a decent grade...
*crosses arms over chest*

*smirks at the term decent, but takes out a quill and some parchement and writes what she really saw*
blonde hair, which is probably by best friend Elena who I haven't seen in a while, and the two gold birds must be the Cheevers...I heard they are part Veela and Veela can turn into birds when afraid....what are they afraid of?
*raises her hand*
Is this enough for a decent grade, professor?

*reads parchment and nods at her kindly*
I always find that foals carrying sadness often see many things. Most foals can only see a whisp of color at this point in your education...very good, Miss Palmers. 10 points for Slytherin.
*turns to Sebastian now*
What did you see, Mr. Bordeaux?

*refuses to even look at crystal*
*lies, his body very tense*
I suppose it was a whisp of colour...urr...blue...yes...
*looks down, hoping Firenze will let him off the hook*

An owl fluttered into the classroom and settled on a desk. It held out its leg, brandishing a letter.
Dear Professor Firenze,
I am the editor of Witch Weekly Magazine and I wondered if you would like to meet me for an interview. I know centaurs usually don't associate with humans but I'm sure my readers would love to hear about life as a non-human teaching at Hogwarts. It would be an honour to meet you.
Yours,
Tallia Gauthier Editor of Witch Weekly Magazine Haphazard Alley London
