*reluctantly Dinah entered the classroom. Although charms wasn’t her worst topic she had recently developed a phobia against school in general and prayed for lightning bolts, twisted ankles and asthma attacks to save her from the tedious bubble-talk that the classes invariably consisted of. She usually spent her classroom-time in an idiotic cold sweat of terror in case someone should expect her to contribute in any way*
*She mustered up enough politeness to great the professor before sitting down next to Jennessa*

As Zelda entered the classroom she looked towards the front of the classroom to make sure she wasn't too late. She noticed many students were already there, but class didn't seem to start.
"Good morning Professor Flitwick" She said with a smile. Flitwick was one of her favorites, never using favoritism and valuing effort and hard work.
She took her customary seat at the front, very excited. Charms was one of her best subjects, the theory being more important in the practical aspect of it, rather than in Potions.
She got out her wand, charms textbook, parchment, quill and ink. She was intrigued and excited to start class.

Garrett strolled into the class, greeted the Professor and sat at the front, next to Zelda. The petite Gryffindor seemed to like Charms as much as he did, and he liked knowing he was sitting next to someone who wouldn't be tedious and useless at the subject, nor would she be trying to bug him for answers constantly.
"Awlright, Harkain?" he greeted her with a shy smile. He started taking his things out of his bag, and brushed his hair out of his eyes.

Zelda had been flipping through her Charm's book while she was waiting for class to start, so it surprised her when she heard her name called out by someone next to Her. Looking over she saw it was Garret, a Ravenclaw that she knew from other classes they had together. All she knew about him was that he was rather intelligent and he played Quidditch.
She gave him a small smile, "I'm doing pretty good. Excited for this class" Charms was a Favourite of hers and every class was always fun and exciting for her. "How about yourself?"

Garrett thought about it for a second. He was in a good mood today, oddly enough for him. He had done lots of drawings that he couldn't fault, Quidditch practice had gone well the night before, and he had studied lots for his OWLs. Everything seemed to be going well for him right now. He grinned, and replied, "Can't complain. I love this class."
"How'd you find the charms homework Flitwick gave us?" He asked, arranging his things nicely on his desk.

Jennessa grinned a little as she heard Garrett come into class. She was seated by Dinah, but neither of them were too far from Zelda. Although they were on the other side of her from the seat Garrett took up. It thrilled the little prankster a bit to know that Garrett hadn't seemed to notice her, and she swiftly and silently drew her wand, a twinkle of mischief in those bright blue eyes.
Under her desk, she performed the well known 'swish and flick' motion, aiming at Garrett's desk from under her own. And suddenly, his things began to float... First his wand, then some parchment, his quill, his charms book, even his inkbottle, which she left upside up thankfully. She grinned quietly to herself, doing all of this non-verbally. The little imp was messing with her buddy and having quite the time of doing it. She figured Garrett would find this amusing, given what they had been learning in another class. All in good fun it was. The girl tried to hide that it was her, but one couldn't miss the mischief and mirth dancing in those eyes.

*He quietly swaggered into the room bag slung over one shoulder as usual, his robes a little worse for wear due to simple not caring.*
*He flopped into a seat at the back and slipped his bag under the desk, stretching his long legs out in front of him crossed at the ankles.*

*Never minding a little bit of waiting time before class, Tina opened her book to read its index. Talking in classrooms was something she did very rarely, however she was more chatty in their spare time.*
Wonder what we'll be doing next...
*Whatever was on schedule today, it naturally would take a moment or several until casting a new spell worked. There would be much studying to do. She was already in her sixth year and could luckily practise at home during future holidays. Before she had turnt seventeen she unfortunately couldn't do anything practical after a school year had ended.*
*The female would have to take care of Apparition lessons as well. Brooms were absolutely not to her liking so she should definitely start with that despite the risks. Flying on a broom wouldn't bring her far, probably she would find herself hitting the next tree. Apparating though might actually save her life one day.*
*With that thought she flipped to the most recent chapter to refresh memories.*

Zelda grinned, "Oh it took me awhile to find it. I looked up the basics of the charm he was asking for in the library which led me to the answer in our book." She sounded a bit nerdy but she was proud of having found the answers and she was confident in her homework. She stifled a laugh as she saw Garret's thing's rise in the air.
Looking around, Zelda tried to find out who was behind it. The only person looking in their direction was Jennessa. She then saw her wand out aiming it at Garret's book. If Zelda hadn't been looking she would have never known who was doing it, Jennessa was that quiet and quite sneaky it seemed. Smiling Zelda returned her gaze to the front, not wanted her to be found out yet.

Garrett made a noise somewhere between a wild squawk and a gasp of distress, and flailed for a moment before trying to rescue his things from floating off towards the ceiling. He snatched his wand and inkbottle, knowing that if either of those fell they would be the most likely to suffer damage. He turned around, and glared at 'Nessa when he noticed her grinning away to herself and very carefully NOT looking at him.
"Very funny, 'Nessa!" he grumbled, but couldn't help a lopsided grin forming on his face. Once he had his wand, he pointed at his things and said, "Finite Incantatem!". Parchment, a heavy Charms book and his raven feather quill fell around him while he covered his head with his arms, hoping that none of them would land on his cranium. Once gravity had done her job, he picked them up and set them back on his desk. He turned to 'Nessa and narrowed his eyes, shaking his fist at her in a jokey manner.
He turned back to Zelda and smiled ruefully. "Sorry about that. Bit of a running joke with me and 'Nessa. You were saying?"

Post by Ellis Archer on Jun 8, 2011 21:58:40 GMT
Ellis slumped into the Charms classroom, late. It wasn't because he wished to be, Charms happened to be the one class he liked, it was the subject he felt he actually understood. But, as usual, he had to have one of his notorious bouts of clumsiness while leaving the Gryffindor Common Room with a pair of friends.
The Fat Lady, annoyed that the boys took their time climbing out of the entrance, chose to slam herself shut at the same moment Ellis' left hand caught the boy from falling straight onto the stone floor head first as he attempted to exit safely. The first, the middle, and the ring fingers were crunched, audibly, between the frame of the painting and the edge of the doorway itself, leaving him hanging there howling in pain while his friends looked on with shock. It took a few moments, but he was finally released, and taken straight to the Hospital Wing, The Fat Lady snickering drunkenly behind.
It didn't take but ten minutes before he was fixed up properly and sent on his way, but the damage was done. Ellis, for the first time in his life, was tardy to Charms, and he sagged while passing the other students as he headed for a seat in the back where he would dump himself onto the chair, and his bookbag onto the floor. He ignored the bag for the time being and set his hand into his lap, watching while he curled his mended fingers into a fist repeatedly. There was a mixture of awe and annoyance on his face.

Jennessa was looking for somthing to make it look like her attention was elsewhere, other than on keeping Garrett's things floating up and up. But... She was failing badly. As soon as Garrett gave his squwak of distress, she gave a slight giggle, which she tried hard to bite back. It was so hard for her to try and look innocent... Especially to Garret. He knew her better than anyone.
As Garrett mumbled, she looked over with a mock innocence. "What? Me? I have no idea what you're talking about..." That grin leapt back into her eyes and onto her face as she allowed herself to be 'reprimended'. She hung her head, unable to banish the grin from her face. "I knoooow Garrett... I'm sooooorry..." She drew out the words with an attempt at sincere appologetics. As soon as he finite'd her incantum, she would release the spell as well with a giggle as the things crashed down around him. She wouldn't let anything hit him if it looked like they were going to, but all was well.
She watched as he gathered his things again and sighed a little. Oh that was good sport. At Garrett's fist waving, Nessa casted him a cute wink and little nod before her attention was taken by a certain Gryffindor, Ellis, as he made his way into the class. She knew of him... He was in all her classes, them being in the same year and all. A bright smile was sent to him and a wave of greeting. He wasn't too late, class hadn't even technically started. She simply supposed Flitwick was waiting for all the students to show up. And to be honest, this was fine by her.

Zelda let out a small laugh as she watched what was happening around her. Garret and Jennessa were just hilarious, and entertaining Zelda the whole time. "Oh we were just talking about the Charms homework." She said towards Garret. "Were you able to to find it?" She asked, willing to help him out if it needed it. Both him and Jennessa seemed like a really nice bunch of people and she could see herself hanging out with them outside of class.

Garrett, embarrassed at the squawking noise he had made, was blushing a tiny bit when he looked back at Zelda. "Oh, yeah..." he said. "Yeah, took me a bit of searching, but it was worth it. Came across a couple of handy spells while I was looking for it!"
He couldn't help the grin that spread across his face then. "Charms is my best subject," he said proudly. "I don't care how much homework Flitwick gives us in this class, I absolutely love it."

*He sat, ignoring the rest of the class, hoping another Slytherin would arrive so he could have someone interesting to talk to, preferably that redhead Gen.*
