*she has done a lot of sketchy things in her life, but hanging across the street from Aaron's flat for half the morning was just about at the top. She just wanted to make sure he was alive...sheesh.*
*stamps her feet, now feeling the cold, and rubs her hands together*

*Strolling along the streets in Hogsmeade actually helps Amberlin in more ways than one. She's able to get her mind off things, while looking around for a possible place to move into as well. A slight ways away, she sees another witch...just standing...on the side of the street. Amberlin quirks one eyebrow and calls out.*
Alright, there?
*Wouldn't usually ask a stranger if they were alright, but she just got off work and the pressure to be nice still hasn't scurried off yet.*

*grumbles, this was the third time this morning someone had asked*
I'm fine. Just standing. Waiting actually, for someone. Kinda.
*swears that next time someone asks she simple going to pretend she was a deaf mute--it would be easier than explaining her life to random strangers on the street*

*Moves to stand on the same side of the street as the witch, heeled boots crunching the snow beneath them. She turns, and looks across the street just like she'd seen the other witch doing earlier.*
Waiting for what?
*Glances over to the witch with a cheeky grin.*

*here we go*
See up there?
*motions with her ungloved hand, sticking it back in her pocket quickly*
There may or may not be a dead man up there, boyfr--exboyfriend actually. We had a bit of an off split and I was just hoping he's okay--I don't really think he's offed himself but he was that type.
*huh, it sounded funny when she said it out loud*

*Groans, inwardly rolling her eyes at the witch's logic.*
So. You've wasted how much time, standing here, staring at that window? Sure, he might be dead, but it's not your problem.
*Is curious.*
If he's your ex, why do you care anyway?

*rolls on her heels*
Um...all morning. Been here all morning. Well I tried to write him a letter to explain all I really should have said earlier but I failed at that, so, second best idea, and note I have some of the worst ideas, come out here. What else was I to do, I was worried.
*says that again in her head*
And I may have also left my nice scarf at his place. It's a really nice scarf.

*Nods in agreement.* Yes, that's probably one of the worst ideas I've heard of all day. If he's dead, he's dead- wait. You said something about a scarf? * * Merlin woman, go get it then! Dead people don't need scarves! *Isn't aware of how rude her comments might sound, because she couldn't really care if the wizard inside was dead or not. Unless he owed her something, then she might be a bit upset...* I'm Amberlin. What's your name, Miss? *Wants to know if she can guess who the wizard is by his ex-girlfriend's name. If you know people, who know people, then you know who they're dating as well. Most of the time, at least.*

*smiles incredibly broadly, blissfully unsure if she's serious*
Names, that's right. I'm Holly Palmers, in case you had some other nickname you were ready to use on me. You--well, you are very good and putting things in perspective, which is a rare trait, I think. However, what I think you are missing is that I don't have a key anymore so if I go up there, it's me knocking on his door, which is not something I am not going to do to myself, if you get what I am saying.
*wonders why on earth she is saying all this to random woman of the day number four*

*Smiles smugly. She's always in the mood for compliments, of course. She narrows her eyes at Holly's excuse for not retrieving her scarf.*
You- you are a witch, right? Damn the keys and wave your wand!
*Doesn't understand why someone would leave an apparently nice scarf in a presumedly dead wizard's house if there was something they could do about it.*

*jumps around a bit, frustrated*
Oh I know that, I know, the door would probably just fall down if I knocked hard enough actually, but I just can't go in there. New Year, new life goals, gotta stay away from things that will just drag you back. Once you walk out, you gotta stay out.
*realizes she's discovered what that letter will say, the one she was having trouble writing before*
You know, it's nothing, I can just owl him and ask for it back. There's no danger that way of bringing back bad habits.
*smiles*
Anyway, what has brought you out here? Heading in any particular direction, I can walk with you for a bit?

*Rolls her eyes once again, feeling that she's been doing that alot lately. She shakes her head, still not understanding the witch's logic, but only because she's never let a wizard get that far under her skin before. She doesn't plan on it ever happening, actually. Speaks before thinking of the possible impact of her words. Decides she doesn't care what the impact is.*
That sounds brilliant. Except for the one little problem- if he's dead, he's not going to send your scarf back.
*Looks back up to the window Holly pointed at before.*
What's to say he will, even if he's alive? Never trust wizards with good clothes, of course.
*Shrugs, pausing for a short time to run the name Holly Palmers through her mind. She doesn't recognize it, therefore doesn't care about the wizard's health. Blinks, debating on telling the witch her real reasons for walking around Hogsmeade at this time of day, alone in the cold weather.*
I'm...thinking of purchasing a cottage out here, either here or Diagon Alley.
*Scrunches her nose as if she's seen one of the Weasley twins, or something equally unpleasant.*
Diagon Alley's much too crowded at the moment, however. I mean, honestly, you can't get a breath of fresh air there without literally running into a dozen people!
*Turns, now looking at Holly. Her expression is terribly self-confident, as if she's positive that the witch agrees with her description.*

*laughs nervously, unbuttoning and buttoning the top of her coat just to have something to do with her hands*
Haha, well then I've got some bigger things to worry about. But trust me, this is not the first time this has happened.
*characteristically bites her lip, worried again for a second before delving her entirely into the conversation*
Whoa, if you are looking to buy then you must have money, if that's not too forward an assumption, so that's cool. I've lived in London and here if you want some advice. Yeah, Diagon is full of kids and a surprising amount of creeper old wizards. Hogsmeade is nice, but painfully quiet sometimes, especially if you like to go out on the weekends.
*reacts to Amberlin's expression, adding*
But I've not nearly close to buying a house so I bet none of that was actually useful to you.

*Furrows her brow, not seeing how Holly could disagree with her. She didn't really, but Amberlin's much too self-centered to notice.*
No, that might've helped more than you think.
*Hasn't decided if Holly's gotten to her bad side or her good side, and hesitantly speaks up.*
Tell you what; how about we stop by the Three Broomsticks? We can keep talking, but get out of the cold.
*Blinks.*
Unless you have another possibly-dead-ex-boyfriend's house to stare at for a few hours?

Getting out of the cold sounds great, actually.
*grins, turning to make towards the Three Broomsticks*
At least not anymore today.
