*The bonds holding him against the wall break away and he tumbles to his hands and knees.*

*With an expression of confusion he looks up at Snape.*

Thank you. But honestly, I will only hold you back. I'll come through that gap in case the ceiling falls, but beyond that... thank you.

*His wand had been confiscated again before being put into the maze, he knew he would only be a burden if he required it.*

Without wasting another second Zero lifts his brilliant green eyes to his boyfriend's, and tries to convey everything he is feeling with one look, not wanting to resort to words that can be over heard.*

*Zero's choice is going to take more strength than he has ever had to use in his entire life. Feeling like Dragon's Droppings his lips blow a light kiss to Sebastian, and he gives his boyfriend a shove in the direction of the magical barrier. If Sebastian isn't willing to walk through on his own, the Zero's going to help him along.*

*Appears puzzled as Zero searches his eyes, feeling as though he's melting from the expression upon his boyfriend's delicate face. Sebastian's spirits lift for a moment, feeling a smile tug as the corners of his mouth.*

What is it, Zero? You look remarkably determined -

*His smile falls as he realises that his boyfriend means to push him to safety. Sebastian struggles against the force of it unsuccessfully, falling into the magical barrier to the exit, cringing and yelling at Zero's self-sacrifice.*

Oh, rot!

[Zero Quinn]

*Painfully watches as Sebastian falls through the magical barrier, and nearly reaches out for his boyfriend in attempt to snatch him back to his side.*

*Keeps himself in check long enough to ensure his boyfriend is safely across the barrier before turning to face the other door. Thankful that Sebastian's counter-curse to the Leg Locker Curse worked, Zero takes a deep calming breath, and steps confidently to the door, opening it with a graceful pull.*

*Forces himself to face forward, and not look to the barrier where his love is safely on the other side while taking the first step through the door.*

~~Now through the barrier, it hardens forming a rock surface, leaving only a passage leading outside back to Voldemort and the others who had escaped.~~

~~Zero Quinn~~

~~A dark stone corridor leads onwards for some way until it eventually reaches a wide room with countless columns holding up the ceiling.~~

~~Around the room on various tables are a number of ornaments.~~

~~Near the entrance is a shelf with ten sections.~~

~~An inscription above it reads:~~

Within this room hidden amongst the treasures are symbols which represent the competitors. Find them to ensure their safety.

~~The ornaments include:

A white unicorn
A green imp
A red coin
An orange pumpkin
A white woman
A blue bottle
A red minotaur
A green vase
A blue horse
A red rat
A blue butterfly

~~Having successfully chosen the cards, a passageway opened for her leading to her next task.~~

~~The room is full of windows showing her what the other competitors are doing.~~

~~Sylvan and Peter are studying their riddles, Valley is in a room similar to the one that she is in, Zero is entering the room full of ornaments, Snape is still talking to the man and the little girl, one more window shows herself.~~

~~An inscription reads:~~

Choose someone to award them freedom.


~~Lucretia Black, Rodolphus LeStrange, Gabriel Rosier, Sebastian Bordeaux~~

~~As Zero enters the room, they suddenly become frozen as if petrified.~~



~~Peter Pettigrew, Valley Tayllore, Jolie Fier, Severus Snape, Sylvan Thails~~

~~A small section of wall shudders and reforms into an inscription.~~

Continue your task, but your ability to continue will be affected by the choice of another.

[Jolie Fier]

*Watches the others carefully, debating her options. Perhaps some of them deserve it more than I do. She begins to feel sympathy for the trials each of her colleagues has undoubtedly been put through in this task. Everyone has fought so hard, everyone wants to get out, they need it...*

*Wake up, Jolie. None of them would save you. With this knowledge in mind, she approaches the window showing herself. She reaches out and brushes the window with her fingertips, unsure of how to make her selection clear. I need to get out of here. I need to prove to the Dark Lord that I am worthy.*

~~Jolie Fier~~

~~Having clearly chosen herself for freedom, she is sucked into her window and apparated outside where she is promptly frozen petrified like the others.~~

[Valley Tayllore]

~~Having incapacitated the troll, a passage opens up for Valley winding down to another test.~~

~~The room she enters is full of magic windows.~~

~~Each of the windows shows one of the other competitors inside the maze and follows them as they move.~~

~~An inscription reads:~~

Freedom is close at hand for you, but would you earn it or take it at the expense of others?

~~Beneath the inscription are two levers, one labelled Give and one labelled Take.~~

*looking around the huge room, trying to keep an eye out for danger and take it what was on the wall*

*nervous reads, trying to make sense of it all*

*thinks for a moment and then sees...*

~~A small section of wall shudders and reforms into an inscription.~~

Continue your task, but your ability to continue will be affected by the choice of another.

*decides to just take her chances...*

*pulls the "give" lever and hopes things turn out for the best*

~~As she chooses the give option, a hatch in the ceiling opens and out of it pours a swarm of flesh eating slugs intent on finding a meal.~~

*A little shocked that everyone around him has suddenly frozen he jumps.*

Wow. What's going on here now?

*Remembering that the only one left unparalysed is the Dark Lord, he smiles nervously.*

*Eventually Zero reaches a room, taking immediate notice of all the ornaments set out on different tables. Gazing around a shelf nearby catches his eye, and he can see there are instructions left once again for him. Seriously tired of all the fuss over this game he reads quickly, perhaps too quickly, and he re-reads again, inhaling deeply.*

*Turning away from the shelf, Zero begins to slowly move his way about the tables, looking over all the trinkets. He smiles at a few, being reminded of Sebastian, and Lucretia, but how is he to know the answer to all?*

*Reaches for the red dagger, fingering it, and he turn it over in his hands a few times before setting it down to resume his inventory of ornaments.*

*For some reason or another a few other pieces that Zero spies stick out in his mind, and they are aligned with the immediate vision of another participant in the game.*

*Not exactly confident in his feelings for each ornament, he aims his wand to the red dagger he previously held, and nonverbally begins to send an ornament to it's proper shelf.*

*looks up just in time to jump to the side of the room as to avoid the disgusting flesh eating slugs pouring down at her*

*has a flesh eating slug attached to her leg*

Incendio! Urgh..!

*puts out the fire on her robes and jumps away from the slugs that were coming toward her, problem was they were everywhere*

*wants to see the wretched creatures BURN, burn...*

Incendio! Incendio! God...

~~As Zero places each correct ornament in place, glass frames appear around them.~~

~~On placing the symbol of his own red coin, a doorway opens which leads him outside, to join the others.~~

~~Only the ornament he chose for Lucretia remains unframed.~~

~~Valley Tayllore~~

~~The swarm of slugs continues to pour in until the room is almost full of them.~~

~~The ceiling hatch closes up stopping any more from entering.~~

~~Valley successfully burns away some of them, but they are intent on a meal.~~

~~Valley Tayllore, Sylvan Thails, Peter Pettigrew, Severus Snape~~

~~Where the message had originally appeared, another replaces it:~~

You may continue as before.

~~Rodolphus LeStrange, Jolie Fier, Gabriel Rosier, Sebastian Bordeaux~~

~~As Zero places their ornaments correctly, they become unparalyzed.~~

*Beams proudly as glass frames magically cover each ornament but one. He isn't exactly sure why Lu's was left out, but that is soon forgotten the moment a doorway opens, and he can clearly see Sebastian standing just on the other side.*

*Wasting no time, Zero scurries to the door, pausing before walking through, thinking, Not another test!*

*Stands there yearning for his boyfriend in plain sight just through the doorway, and knows the only way to find out if this is the end is to pass through.*

*Takes a deep breath, steps through the doorway, and is most relieved that he is indeed standing with the others, but most importantly Sebastian.*

*Moves to stand next to his boyfriend, offering Lu a glance.*

*Nods curtly to the wizard, turning away swiftly, he probably shouldn't have freed the man, but just in case he's trying to cover all of his bases.*

*Without further hesitation, Severus casts a sharp glance to the little Muggle girl, and wordlessly passes her as he moves to the tight gap, and squeezes himself through, into the other room.*

*Moves swiftly to the puzzle, wand out, and reading as he looks over each symbol. Oddly, this seems too easy, and he sniffs a bit, always suspicious.*

*Looks about quickly to see if there is anything he has missed in the room, and notices nothing. Without further ado, Severus has his wand aimed at the puzzle, and begins to appease the symbols by casting the required spell for each.*

*The sun is hit with a simple spell*

Lumos!

*Places a few drops of water upon the water symbol*

Aguamenti!

*Heats up the flame symbol.*

Incendio!

*Sends a bird flying out of his wand to the bird symbol.*

Avis!

*Shoots a bouquet of flowers to the flower symbol.*

Orchideous!

*And finally a he is allowed to use a spell he is quite good at, and does enjoy a bit.*

Serpensortia!

*A snake slithers from the tip of his wand and curls over the snake symbol. Now, Severus watches the symbols, and waits for the outcome.*

~~As Zero exits the maze, it closes up behind him assuring his freedom.~~

~~Severus Snape~~

~~Having satisfied the symbols, a doorway opens for him leading outside, finally free to join the others.~~

~~Still petrified as she was. Zero had missed his chance to save her.~~
