-Vane has been sitting, studying in the library for about...oh, twenty minutes or so, and it already felt like it's been hours. His eyes kept sliding in and out of focus as he read then re-read the same sentence in his Transfiguration text. It was so utterly boring, he could hardly keep himself awake.
He took a quick peek around, saw he was the only student there, and was rather surprised to see it. Not unhappy about it, but still, the library was hardly ever empty, and so it boggled his tired brain for a moment. He tried to remember if there was somewhere he was supposed to be, and that was the reason for the lack of visitors, but it was no use. He had hardly slept a wink the night before, everything just seemed a puddle of mush.
A yawn overcame the wizard and he stretched out his lean frame in the hard, uncomfortable chair, getting ready to give up studying for the night. He was far too tired to deal with it tonight, it would be best left for tomorrow, which was Saturday, when he had more time to sleep and function better. With that in mind, Vane began to pile up his papers before he shoved them and his text into his bag, and slowly he pushed himself away from the table, lost in a sleepy haze.-

*Mumbles to himself, dragging his feet as he shuffles into the library.*
No one cares about History of Magic, honestly! Professor's gone mental if he thinks I'm going to really try with this one. Two scrolls of, well...whatever it was we learned about in class today.
*Shakes his head, turning to look at the witch walking next to him.*
D'you even remember what Binns droned on, and on, and on about in class today?
*Blinks up at her hopefully, even though no one really listens in that class to begin with. Out of the corner of his eye, Arcangelo spies a certain wizard walking about in an odd sort of daze. In a semi-whispered tone, he calls out.*
Oi, Avebury! Lookin' sharp today, mate!

*Hears every word Arcangelo mumbles, inwardly rolling her eyes.*
Of course I don't remember a word that old ghost said, with all the notes someone insisted on sending in my direction since the very beginning of class.
*Eyes Arc pointedly, not noticing Vane's in the library as well until the Ravenclaw points him out. She narrows her eyes at Arcangelo, at the same time wondering why Vane really does appear to be in a daze.*

-Jumps, startled by hearing his name called out of nowhere. Vane turned around sharply toward the familiar voice, and spotted Arcangelo through blurry, tired eyes.*
Alright, Harlow?
-Offers a weak grin, taking notice of Angelo's company, and flushes as his eyes, of their own accord, wander over the witch from head to toe.-
-Mumbles, tearing his gaze away from Mabel Landon, Vanes hugest crush in his whole entire life, not that you'd hear it from him.-
Landon...erm...'lo.

*Smirks, tsk tsking under his breath at Vane's obvious tiredness.*
Oh, I'm wonderful, thank you.
*Doesn't miss the way Vane's eyes wander, but doesn't say a word, not wanting to mess with the two snakes if it isn't any of his business.*
What're you doing in the library, eh? Surely you weren't studying.
*Grins softly, just having a bit of fun with the wizard. Arc knows Vane is actually a very capable student.*

*Completely misses the way Vane looks at her, too distracted with doing the same to the wizard in return. A part of her wants to kick Arcangelo with her black heels- not too ridiculously high, of course- because just thinking about Vane does funny things to her train of thought. The other part of her wants to thank the Ravenclaw for dragging her into the library after classes.*
Hullo, Vane.
*Flicks her eyes up at Arc at his last comment, not surprised to find the wizard grinning. Sometimes, she wonders why she's mates with someone so insufferable.*
Don't mind him, as usual. He's only jealous that after seven years, he still isn't able to study on his own.

-Grin widens at Mabel's comment, yet he nods to Arc, rolling his eyes.-
Yeah...or I was tryin' to. Blasted Transfiguration, so utterly boring. I think I've swished and flicked my brains out, but got nothing in return.
-Shrugs, holding back another yawn. He really needs to get a good night's sleep tonight so he can be up and at 'em early. Quidditch practice in the morning, and there's no chance Vane would do anything to miss that.-
How 'bout you two?
-Eyes them both between narrowed lids, attempting read the body language between the two. It always seems as if Arc is at Mabel's side every time Vane see them. Maybe the two are going out.*
What are you getting in on tonight?

*Winces at Vane's description of what Transfiguration's done to his mind. He simply ignores Mabel's comment, knowing he'll get her back somehow...even if it means using Vane. This idea makes him grin, but wickedly this time, and he shrugs.*
Well, we were going to work on our own assignments as well, but I think Mabel darling might be a bit too distracted.
*Has no idea of Vane's suspicions, and winks down at Mabel, ready to step over to the side should she decide to hit him.*

*Unlike Arcangelo, Mabel frowns slightly at Vane's description. It's obvious he sounds a bit stressed, and the Ravenclaw does nothing to help matters.*
Nothing, really.
*She replies to Vane's last question, barely keeping herself from whacking Arc upside his head with her Potions textbook.*
I'm not the one who is too distracted in Professor Binns's class, Harlow.
*Bites out in a warning tone, stepping away from Arc and closer to Vane, but not shoulder to shoulder. She looks over to her Housemate.*
I could shove him off the Astronomy Tower, if you'd like. He's been this bothersome all day.

-Eyes get more and more narrow the longer he keeps looking at the pair before him. It appears the relationship between Arc and Mabel is a rather good one, and that depresses the Slytherin. If only he had the b@ll@cks to speak up, or even ask Mabel out.-
Ahh... Binns... I'm surprised you haven't ripped out all you're lovely black hair thanks to boredom, ickle Archiekins.
-Unconsciously, Vane inches closer to Mabel as she nears him. He lofts a brow, grinning down at her and peering into her breathtaking blue eyes.-
I thought maybe we could wait for snow, Landon. You know how much I fancy building snowmen. He'd be perfect to...
-Chuckles, thinking back to the winter he turned a fellow Slytherin into a snowman.-

*Inwardly snorts at Vane's comment. He runs one hand through his hair, as if making sure it's all there.*
Nope! I'll never rip my hair out, mate. Too gorgeous for that, you know?
*Cheekily, and knowing he'll probably get killed for it, Arc reaches out and pulls gently on a lock of Mabel's silky brown curls.*
Mabel's is as well, of course. Now, what's this about a snowman?
*Quirks one eyebrow. If Vane's in on it, Arc basically has a right to fear for his life. Or, his sanity.*

*Stands at the doors to the library as if looking around for someone, holding a book and a few pieces of parchment. She finally spots Mabel and starts toward her, noticing the others as she approaches.*
There you are, Mabel! Hello Vane...Angelo.
*Smiling, she nods at each in turn and sets her bag and things down on the nearest table.*
So what's going on? Don't tell me you've started a study group. Because that would be just.....hilarious.
*Snickers, knowing that the last thing this group would do when congregated is study. Especially since she's well aware of the "tension" between a certain two housemates. Of course, she has her own reasons for being distracted as well - but that's for her to know and everyone else to find out.*

*Blinks, distracted by the deep blue of Vane's eyes to the point that she barely hears what they're talking about. But he mentioned something about snow and she became excited, up until he then implied that Arcangelo would follow along. Well, he probably would anyway seeing as how no one else would deal with the wizard.*
Yeah, we'll wait for more snow. Angelo, don't touch my hair, you'll ruin it.
*She says without looking away from Vane, not caring how odd she probably looks and what sorts of thoughts are running through Vane's mind like "She's an idiot." Another female voice enters the conversation, and Mabel breaks eye contact long enough to look over her shoulder and watch as Genevieve walks over.*
Genny! What do you mean, hilarious? We'd make such a productive study group, wouldn't you agree?
*Smiles at her ginger friend, placing herself between Vane and Arcangelo, slipping her arms behind their backs to pull them closer, as if in an odd sort of hug. Without noticing, Mabel leans more onto Vane than Arc. She drawls, eyes glittering wickedly.*
Do come join us, love. We're reviewing the many methods of how to build a Ravenclaw snowman.

*Smiles wickedly.*
Oh that's easy! We'll just make Angelo stand very still, preferably with a charm, and just pelt him with snowballs until he's well covered up.
*Laughs, placing her hands on the edge of the table as leans back against it, not really all that comfortable with "group hugs"*

*Is happily surprised when Genevieve joins, not really noticing how Mabel's managed to rope him into a hug.*
Well, well, Gen...what did I ever do to you?
*Pauses, grinning roguishly.*
On second thought, don't answer that. I reckon Mabel will just magically invent some horror story of something I've never done that supposedly but didn't really happen three years ago.
*Gives Gen a pained look, as if Mabel would really do something like that. She has, but that isn't the point. He wonders why Genevieve didn't join the hug, and to keep things from getting uncomfortable for her, he gently pulls away from Mabel.*
But maybe you'd like to join me.
*Winks at Genevieve.*
I reckon we'd make beautiful snow...people.
