Involuntarily Gus smiled, giving a long sigh of relief. He hurried around the bed again, carefully helped her up, and placed her on the bed.
"There now," he said quietly. "I am sure you can sleep for a while, after all this commotion."
He made sure he didn't leave any of his remedies flying about and went to the door.
"If you need anything, I'll be here. It was a rather unexpected experience today, but I have a better idea now what's happening to you. Sleep well!"
Gus closed the door gently from outside. He leaned against the wall for a moment, deliberating whether he'd have time to go the Tea Room. In fact, it was a double Ogden he craved right now, not the dishwater they served in the cantina, but he walked in the direction of the elevator anyway.

"Ah! Finally!"
She put on a bright smile and quickly approached the man as he made his way out of the ward and into the waiting area.
"Mr. Pye? Hello, my name is Silvery Ligh.. um...Bletchley." she sniggered shyly. "Sorry, still can't get used to the married name." She waved away her slip-up and continued. "I understand that you are the healer in charge of Ms. Fuilteach, correct? I was wondering if I could see her. I'm an old friend and would really like to know that she's okay."
From what she's heard about Ophelia's state she probably isn't fit to receive visitors, and won't be for a while...if at all. That matters not to Silvery though, she has to get in to see her somehow. If not today then perhaps another, but she has a task to fulfill and will do what it takes. If Mr. Pye decides not to help her she would have to find another way in. Or...if it starts to look like it will be too much of a hassle there is always a little curse called Imperio.

In his exausted state it took him a few seconds to realize that the witch was talking to him.
He managed not to groan audibly and tried to focus on her request. As far as he was informed, only Ophelia's father and the strange healer were allowed to visit her, but also, so far nobody else had wanted to.
"I see, Mrs ..uh.. Blightly, but I am afraid I cannot help you. At the moment a visit would be counterproductive. The patient is asleep. It would be better if you come back in the afternoon, and at any rate you should pass by the office of healer Smethwyck before, to get a formal permission to visit Ms Fuilteach."

Silvery smirked and produced a signed permission slip out of her cloak's inside pocket. "I've already spoken with healer Smethwyck, Mr. Pye. Here, have a look for yourself." She handed him the piece of parchment. "He's the one who suggested that I speak with you in regards to Ophelia. He said you were the one in charge over this." This was a bit of a stretch to Smethwyck's words but what man didn't like to have his ego stroked a bit. It worked with Smethwyck himself after all.
She leaned her head to one side, almost pouting. "I would really love to see her. Could you at least tell me how she's doing?" Taking him by the arm, she lead him to a couple of chairs at the edge of the waiting room area and sat down, continuing her questioning with both impatience and concern. She wasn't going to let him go until she got some information. "How is her treatment coming along? She is seeing a psychiatric healer, right?"

Gus desperately hoped the woman would stop blabbing. It was pure nonsense that Smethwyck could have told her he was the one in charge. The case was much too complicated and demanding for one person alone, and he had seen other and more experienced healers emerge from Ophelia's room in the same state he was in right now. Nonetheless he cast a glance at the parchment. The healer's signature seemed genuine. He rubbed his eyes and his forehead trying to get rid of his tiredness but the letters kept dancing.
"Okay", he gave in. "You can go for a quick look, but please, be very quiet and let her sleep. You will understand that I can't discuss medical matters with you, but I can tell you that Ophelia is seeing all kinds of healers until we can determine the cause of her paroxysms. Also, she's responding well to medication."
The witch didn't need to know that medication meant an amount to keep a dragon sedated.

Ophelia lay, half asleep, on the bed. Her vision was blurry when she opened her eyes, and she felt much too warm. Whatever medicine he had given her was powerful enough to sedate a vampire. She felt tired and woozy. What was that ringing noise in her ears? Was it music? She tried to sing, hoping to drown it out, but her singing was more semi-tuneful mumblings.

It was obvious to her that the man was exhausted and didn't care about a word she was saying, but that didn't matter. The fact was that her strategy worked and he'd agreed to let her in. And yes, she was well aware that he wasn't at liberty to discuss a patient's medical matters but that wasn't going to stop her from trying.
"I really appreciate your kindness, Mr. Pye. I've been so very worried about her." Ugh! The sweetness she was having to put on was making her sick to her stomach.
"So tell me, before I go in. Which personality is....winning? I won't pretend I don't know what she's capable of."
She looked up suddenly, intent on listening to what she thought was singing, distant, but by a very familiar voice.
"That's her, isn't it?"

Gus knew, somewhere deep in his subconscience, that the friendly behaviour of the witch was just a mask. Only, his mental and magical resources were running on emergency fuel, and he wasn't able to figure out if this could be a danger for his patient.
He turned his head too in direction of the low, distant noise.
"Yes, it's Ophelia", he confirmed. "It's a good sign, when she's turning to music, normally she's as far as possible away from a fit when she's singing or playing an instrument."
He looked at the woman, still not quite sure if this was the right thing to do. "Well, she's apparently awake again, so I suppose you might go in for a brief moment."
He stood up and led the way to Ophelia's room.

"Thank you." She said with a smile, telling herself that getting in had turned out to be much easier than she expected. Ophelia was a very dangerous patient, she would have thought she'd be under the strictest of security. "Hmm, perhaps she is." She thought, wondering now if she'd be talking to her through vampire-proof bars, or glass. Or maybe Mr. Pye will take her inside the room to see her; he did say she was sedated.
Either way, Sil knew that sedated or not she'd still have to be careful. A vampire could move to attack faster than a witch can raise her wand to defend herself. And although she knew Ophelia wouldn't have any reason to hurt her, there was no telling what "the other one" would think about this visit.
Silvery steeled herself and continued to follow the healer down the corridor. "So tell me...does she have her full memory when she's herself? I mean, will she remember people and events from her past?"

"Oh, yes, she does.", Gus confirmed. "At least, she talks about her family, or things she'd done and liked in the past. If she doesn't answer to a question or stops talking, don't pressure her. The best would be you only mention happy moments you had together."
He opened the door and let Silvery in, although he hoped Ophelia was too tired to talk or to listen. He wasn't sure what exactly the things were that made She appear, but he knew it were events Ophelia wasn't ready to deal with yet. As he had never heard about this witch related to the recent events Lord Fuilteach and the Italian doctor had mentioned, he was certain she would only talk about a past that Ophelia considered to be safe.
"Miss Fuilteach", he whispered, "you have a visitor."

Ophelia half opened her eyes and turned on her side to face her visitors. Healer Pye again, and... it couldn't be. She struggled to sit up, but found she felt too weak.
"Silv?" she asked incredulously. "Ahhh... I see. I'm hallucinating again. Well, this is a more welcome hallucination than when I see wolves with eyes like burning coals. Hallucinations, please forgive me. Apparently, I am quite mad these days."

Silvery was led into a room she found to be abominably substandard for long term healing. She wondered how they could expect anyone to get well in a place like this. Ophelia should be surrounded by familiarity and comfort not...this.
She had to hold back a gasp when she finally laid her eyes on Ophelia, when she heard her speak as if Silvery was nothing but a figment of her imagination. This was not the vibrant beauty she knew, this was a sad and tortured soul. What or who had done this to her? How had this come to be?
"Hello Ophelia." A warm smile shone on her face as she took a slow step toward her. "I'm not a hallucination. I'm really here. See?" She held her bejewelled hand out for her to touch.
She wasn't too sure if getting so close was such a good idea but she comforted herself with the fact that Mr. Pye would not have let her inside the room if he thought she was in danger, so she went ahead...with caution.

She had been gaining weight recently, thanks to regular meals in Saint Mungo's, but she was still painfully thin and gaunt. Ophelia held out a thin, trembling hand, and gingerly touched Silvery's fingertips.
"You feel real," she whispered. "But then again, so does everything else. They say they're real, too." She squeezed Silvery's hand and said with a weak smile, "Even if you aren't real, it is good to see you. You are as dazzling as ever."

Silvery thanked her for the compliment, finding it really hard to smile through the sadness she was feeling. She managed it though, for Ophelia's sake. "It's good to see you too. I thought you could use a friend." She shifted her glance to Mr. Pye, asking in almost a whisper: "Is she always like this? So...disoriented?" She hoped that Ophelia's confusion was only due to her being sedated. Whatever potions she was being given were either working really well or not at all.

Gus nodded and patted Silvery's shoulder.
"Don't worry! It's the medication. When she's Ophelia, she's always herself, although not necessarily happy. She is conscient that there's another thing twisting her brain, but when being under sedation it makes her brain too fuzzy to believe reality. If you could visit her regularly, she'll know you are a good reality, like her father, and disconnected from the one that plagues her."
