Well you add up the numbers that the letters represent, then keep adding or whatever depending on the method until you have some number between 0 and 9 and that number has a bunch of lore about it.
*shoves her paper over to him*
I can't spell that, here, right it down.
*takes this time to sneak a glance towards to back of the room*

*writes 'Chrestomanci' on her paper, writing the name in loopy, artistic letters*
A name like that demands attention, it wouldn't look right in plain print.
*smiles at her* That's fascinating, but I'm just copying...what's the lore then?

Random made up stuff.
*flips through her book*
Like this stuff about three being a stable number and so nine being a number of strength since three times three is nine.
*scratches something out on her paper*
I thought that was a one but it was just a sloppy seven.

*stares at the ceiling once more*
Well tell me the result when you're done.

*dots her paper*
There. Look.
Character Number: 2 Heart Number : 7 Social Number: 4
*flips through the book* Let me see what they mean now.

*impatiently* I thought you were smart, Hol.
*glances at her paper* Social number? That's not high enough.

That's not how it works.
*scribbles some from the passages in the book on her sheet*
A character number of 2 means you're withdrawn, moody, self-conscious and indecisive. A heart number of of 7 means you're pessimistic, sarcastic, and insecure about love and a social number of 4...*strains to read* ...means you're a stable and reliable friend.
*sits back in her chair*
Tell me if that sounds right.

*looks displeased and crosses his arms*
That's a bunch of rubbish! I'm not any of that! Except I am reliable, I'm always saving people. What's this about insecure about love? I should drop this class.
*looks at his hands and plays with his serpent ring, looking very pale*

I doubt Professor Vector will care.
*raises her hand to get her attention*
Who do you save?

Well...I'm going to save you, like I promised. I saved Noelle from a dementor, Michelle from a werewolf, and Devlin and George from killing each other.
*smiles at Holly* Not bad, eh?

*looks unimpressed*
You have too much time in your hands. Careful, or they'll begin to call you a Gryffindor.

Ha, let them. It wasn't bravery...I never enter a fight I can't win. That way I'm not acting like a stupid Gryffindor who gets bitten by a basilisk or something.
*glances at Holly* Does anything impress you?

*places her quill down*
Impress is too strong a word. Some things catch my attention but an impression would have to stay in my head for longer than a day, and that rarely happens.

*still looking at her papers*
Are you going to sit there and talk the entire lesson and force me to resort to seperating you like you are twelve instead of seventeen, because I wouldn't put it past me.
*shuffles papers again and continues writing notes, looking completely unconcerned*

*glares at Sebastian as if it's all his fault and sticks her hand in the air again*
Professor, I'm done.
