*smiles to Noelle*
Yes indeed, we will look at these quickly before the lesson. Don't worry, you will get full marks. Let's see...well, these certainly look like very normal house items. *inspects locket more* So any of them have magical properties and if yes, are they ritualized or enchanted?

Only the Locket and the teddy... But The bear was for when I was going through- *Pauses as she vaguely remembers her brown hair turning bright blond and her brown eyes turning green* Changes... and the Locket helps me control my mothers side of my heritage.
*Smiles at Elena*

*Gives Noelle back a puzzled grin and reads over her responses once more. Tugs at her blonde hair and wonders if she could ever pass off as a veela.....*

*still smiling, retreating behind desk*
Well, yes Miss Cheever. These are indeed magical items and no doubt that Locket had more power than any simple enchanted spoon. *grins*
You put your items away, thank you again for bringing them in. Now, for today's lesson.
Does anyone want to read their examples of some protective items?
*his last word echoes a bit...*

Common Enchantments--the Fidelis Charm Common Spells (short-term)--Guardrail Charms so kids don't fall down stairs or out windows Deep Magic Protection-- *she really had to think for this one* I'm not too sure actually...

*nodding and coming back from around desk*
Very nice, Miss Elias. I like that you including protective charms against both magic and physical damage. For the last one....let's see if anyone else came up with an example.
Noelle? Priscilla?

Priscilla lifted her head at the sound of her name, her eyes intense and focused.
"Yes, sir. Deep magic, in it's essence, is often highly complicated or very unpredictable. Magical or even non-magical actions may cause a deep magic charm or similar. As we were chatting about some of that old mythology yesterday, I might use the sacrifice of the Christ as one example of deep magic. By willingly accepting the hand of death, he created one of the most famous protection charms even recognized by muggles."

*clapping hands together and saying the next bit with a bit of a bark*
Yes! That is the best example I can think of. You hit upon some great points. The action that consecrates the deep magic does not have to be a magical spell or ritual, um...let's see, sacrifice is a very common method, especially seen in families, and third *pausing to take a breath*, muggles seem to have some appreciation for the protection that sacrifice often invokes. Indeed, I believe, these muggles have some knowledge that Christ's deep magic protection will last until the undoing of the world....which is simply extraordinary. What power....
Well, yes now. Any questions or comments?

muggles need to open their eyes and look into reality.

*waving his planner*
Excellent then. You are dismissed. No homework, but be prepared for a short quiz on duelling to begin next lesson. Unforunately we will not be going into the practical part until much later after Christmas Holiday and closer to exams in June. Now, next class will be on the use of dark curses and hexes that one would usually only encounter, say, in a fight with a Death Eater or a Hit Wizard examinator...much the same actually...
*weak laugh, a weaker cough, then...*
Yes, well, please be ready. I will also begin to talk about a long-term research project I want you to plan sometime before Holiday, but it will not be due until at least New Years. Thanks you all for being so willing to learn.
*smiles again and begins to clean up his desk*

*sighs at the thought of a report. Puts the locket on, then walks over to the professor as the students begin to file out*
May I see the trinkets? Or is my welcome to them suddenly closed? *Plays with the locket as a weird feeling of denial washes over her as usual whenever she wears it.*

What, these Miss Cheever?
*points to the amulets he had laid out on his desk but had not brought up in class.*
