*Pulls chair out from desk, the sunlight coming in through the window. Pulls his planner and class roster from his case. He is still a bit out of breath from arriving, but is ready to catch the students up in their studies. They need to be prepared for June exams.*
I hope some students wander in....I can't wait to meet them, learn about their lives, their families.
*Takes out a small stone badger paperweight and places it at the end of the desk, next to a well of ink and a fancy quill. It reads...*

*wanders by the DADA, shocked that the desk is occupied. However, she keeps on her way*
I don't have to go to class yet!

Priscilla walks in and lifts an eyebrow at the sight of the new teacher. However, she makes nothing else out of it, but politely takes a seat, waiting for the rest of the students to arrive and the class to start.

Well, *looking up from his planner* I assume Miss Elias will be right back, no? *quick chuckle* Um, *checks Roster*, you must be Miss Chimaera. Thanks you for coming so early, I had wanted someone to tell me how far in your studies you have advanced in previous years.
*Turns to the tea kettle on his desk and pours water into a large yellow and black ceramic mug*
Sorry, tea?

*Wanders back around the doorframe, and hearing much voices, guesses class is about to start and she'd hate to be late.*
*Takes a seat, unnoticed by the two. She, however, notices the obvious Hufflepuff Mug and thinks two thoughts:
1) How ever did a Hufflepuff end up teaching DADA? and 2) That is the tackiest mug I have every seen!

*Runs into room and trips. She laghes and stands up, holding her bag close to her and turnining to the three by the window*
"I thought I was late," She laughed, and walked over to the table. "Do you mind if I join you, Elena?" she asks
*pulls out a chair and sits down. Notices the mug*
"What in the world is that? I've never seen such a... mug so..."
*shakes head. See's the man by the teachers desk.*
"Is that our new Professor?"

*So very excited that Noelle seems to have some fashion sense...well, for a Ravenclaw. And since Michelle is often a no show to classes, she might as well make new friends*
Yea, that's him and his horrid mug. He's still talking to Priss...I don't think he's even taken notice of me!
*Flips her hair around to try and draw attention to herself.*
Nope. *giggles*

*Notices the two girls and promises Miss Chimaera to get back to her.*
Aw, hello ladies. You must be Miss Cheever and Elias. *looks down at his roster, taking a sip from his mug. He turns it in his hand so that the details are exposed. A badger's head is imprinted on the front,; it's muzzle barely raised from the suface of the mug. The animal's tail is wrapped around to form the handle. It is truly a horrible piece of work, but very much adored by the professor.*
I was just asking what experience you have had in DADA in previous years. There will be no formal class today, I really just want to get to know you all. *smiles kindly*

*Eyes the mug disdainfully, but smiles sweetly at the professor*
No classes? Oh my... I wish I would have known that, books a little heavy, but oh well." Laughs falsely.
"Good lord that mug is hideous!" *she thinks* "No formal classes? I just waisted my afternoon to talk? Ugh" *Mentally groans*
"Classes have just been simple for me, though this class is more fun than the others"
"Hopefully in the future I can avoid others like me when my dream fulfills"

*tilts head and smiles*
You are certainly optimistic, Miss Cheever. I am so the book is so heavy, but a comprehensive education is what I am going to give you. Prehaps you will learn a lightening spell in Charms. I would do the honors, but I am a mess at Charms. *chuckles again, refilling his mug over his desk* I'd set it up in flames....but then that might be better.
Let's give the others a few more minutes, then I'll go over the syllabus and let you all go.

*looks at Noelle, then at the professor*
Oo, are you a Hufflepuff? I mean, the mug...those are Hufflepuff colors, right? I think that's cool, a Hufflepuff teaching, DADA. If I may say...that's a bit unusal. Oh, I mean..
*blushes*

*Sipping, then that dry chuckle*
That is quite alright, Miss Elias. The truth is DADA was the only class I liked back in my days. I tried using my passion to get a job at the Ministry, but paperwork is a poor excuse for active learning...*gulps* and the tea was horrid. Rogan served this bitter pasty stuff all the time.....well, what I mean to say is teaching is the only way I can continue my love of Dark Arts.........I mean, the Defence against them. Yes, well *a bit flustered*, you can have a look around at some of the items I got when in Egpyt.
*on the walls and in cases all around the room are bones, crystals, daggers, a long rusty sword, a shrunken head, a small gold pyramid, a stuffed falcon....*

*Noelle smiles in spite of herself at his comment about books needing to be in flames*
"Yes, quite opptomistic..." *half hearted laugh* "Well, My père (Father in French) isn't home much, so I'm not quite sure what he does, my mamman (Mother) stays at home. Père says that he thinks it would be better if she did, her being a Veela and all" She smiled, showing rows of too white/straight teeth.
"I think he wants her to himself"
