*Quickly walks into the greenhouses and makes sure that all the plants are well watered and cared for. He had just figured out his class schedules and what he planned for the classes and they're homework. Hopefully the word wasn't too difficult but at the same time he needed the students to actually learn. Herbology was a serious subject.*
*Mutters to a flutterby bush and turns his attention to the blackboard in the corner of the greenhouse. With a small flick of his wand, the instructions for the class appeared on it, written in green chalk*
Herbology Lesson One: All Levels
In our first lesson we will deal with the understanding the concept of Herbology.
Herbology is the study of magical plants and fungi. This includes looking after plants properly and also discovering whatever their magical properties are.
Many magical plants these days form very important ingredients for potions. Other plants have magical effects in their original state.
Please take out your book, One Thousand Magical Herbs & Fungi" and your dragon-hide gloves.
*Waits for his students, then the class can begin. Decides to hand out the homework at the end of the class.*

Cordella * takes out her book and dragon-hide gloves* Cordella felt this class would be the most boring class she would have all year. The teacher was right though about many magical plants were used as potion ingredients. Cordella could agree that much.

*speaks in polite tone* "Good day Mr. Longbottom, your quiet welcome you will find that I always arrive to all my classes on time, I want to make a good impression on my house. I am sorry but I have not the slightest clue what is keeping my housemates, they seem to be lagging behind"

*frowns at two students backing they're way out of the class. He wasn't stupid, he knew people didn't like Herbology and he would not having students cutting class*
"Sit back down you two, I won't have you making up excuses to get out of class. It's either Herbology or detention for a week. You decide!"
*walks around the class making sure everyone has they're books and gloves out*

"Now I know Herbology isn't the most interesting of subjects but it's a subject none the less that you need to pass. Todays lesson is on Atropa Belladonna, it may interest some of you, others perhaps not but hopefully by the end of this lesson you will have learned something."
*walks around the class whilst talking*
"Now Atropa Belladonna is a pretty mundane plant but it has magical uses you see. You will need full protection while dealing with this plant hence your gloves and later on you will need you goggles. So can anyone tell me the other name or names of Belladonna and why you need to protect yourselfs while handling it?"
*looks at his class waiting for a reply*
