~*THE DECREES*~
Golden Decrees
Failure to adhere to the Golden Decrees may result in instant bans.
1. Proboards Terms Of Service. Important. Please read.
2. No time for time-wasters. We require a standard of behaviour here at Malfoy Mansion RPG - if you display any kind of immature traits (rudeness, ignoring staff, ignoring rules, trolling etc), we will consider barring you from the boards with no prior warning. We don't have time for it -[/size] we'd honestly rather be doin' the fun stuff.
3. Broken links... we are not a fan of them. They slow the boards down and mess things up. If you spot one, please PM a member of staff if you can't get rid of it yourself.
4. Gratuitous plugging of own RP boards anywhere on MM. This includes PMing members and instant messaging them on the sole premise of trying to get them to RP at your board. That's the cheat's way, and we don't like cheats!
5. Copying - it might be the sincerest form of flattery, but it's just not cool, kiddo. Please do not take any board descriptions, codes, plots, other people's character profiles, posts, or graphics etc. If you'd like something, please try asking us. Don't just steal it.
6. Spoilers. So lucky you, you have seen something before anyone else! Some people hate spoilers, so please warn people of any spoilers by saying in the thread title. It will be appreciated.

The Magical Decrees
Failure to adhere to the Magical (roleplay) Decrees may result in admin warnings, bans will occur if warnings ignored.
1. Characters - to start a character you MUST apply for one first.
- For a canon apply here
- For a non-canon apply here
- You are allowed up to 3 characters (3 accounts), however at least 1 of the 3 must be a canon.
- Please read Do's and Don't's before applying.
- Please consider a character we don't have many of already or main canons we really need, we'll totally love you for it.
2. Good sportsmanship is very dear to us. Be fair in your RPs, don't god mode and all that. Don't make yourself all wondrous, beautiful and talented, it gets rather tedious. Go on - be smelly and ugly for a change, you'll be surprised that it's just as fun. Don't take it all too seriously. And ask permission of admins and players involved if you want to do something that affects lots of people/plot direction (ie deaths, marriages, pregnancies, mass attacks, serious injuries).
Manners and RP etiquette are important, like if someone has already started a thread that isn't labelled as 'open', it is best to ask them in a PM if it is all right for you to join in.
3. Concerning avatars, sigs and PBs (played by/models/actors/celebs) - we prefer you to use actors cast in the films for your canons. If there is no actor cast or it is for a non-canon, please choose someone appropriate ie. normal looking and suits your profile. In general we do not allow Hollywood movie stars as your PBs, think along the lines of British comedians/drama actors. There is a pre-approved list of actors you can use here. You may also request help from one of our many talented designers here.
Size limits are as follows, please observe. If you have not resized your AV before you upload it and it stretches the page, it will be deleted or resized by admin.

4. Being AWOL. OK so real life can be a pain in the butt or just get ridiculously busy, or maybe you just want a well-deserved break. We understand! And good for you, too. But if you know you aren't going to be around for a while please let other players know in the Absences board. If you have a canon character or have left a vital plotline hanging and you are AWOL for more than 2 months, we may give your canon to someone else or try and finish off your plotline somehow without you, just to stop MM from completely stalling! You're not allowed to completely leave, though. Joking. But please, don't.
5. Harry Potter is British, so turn your Americanisms into Britishisms as much as you can, and consider the nationality of your player carefully. Being a wizard is a nationality in itself, they would have their own phrases and particular curious ways. You can have a character who is not British (we still prefer European nationalities, like it is in the books) though if you want to post a anything in another language, you MUST provide a translation. So we'll see you down the pub then, geezers.

7. Imagination - we are a fan! If you're not a boring old Muggle here at MM then use your magic, your brooms and your sneakoscopes. We mean, like, use initiative with your RPs. Peruse the Member's Handbook for info and inspiration. You can even consult our Oracle.
8. Good Housekeeping.
- Please use the Topic Icons as much as you can, and the icons in the smilies box.
- If you are roleplaying something that is part of the main plotline, please use the MM Plot topic icon so we can identify it easily and make sure it stays in view.
- Please title your thread with something alluring and to do with that particular RP, it makes it memorable and gets us interested.
- Please be sure to start a thread in the correct location. If your RP has taken you to a different part of the board, please post the new link at the end of your previous location and then post the previous link at the top of your new thread, so readers can follow your RP easily.
- Please, please do not put OOC chat in any RP threads. Use PMs, OOC boards or get each other on MSN.
- We don't have a minimum post-length, we like our one-liners when the time calls! We are not a ParaRP board but do not insist on a particular RP style. We do like a good effort though.
