Yeah, I'm Draco. Draco Malfoy. I've come about er... *hesitates* OK, I have a dragon egg at home, I know it's illegal without a licence but I'm trusting you not to tell anyone. So I hope you don't let me down! I just need to ask a few questions.

Hmm, Malfoy, Malfoy. I have heard of the name. Yeas yeas my lad, I will keep it confidential - but I need to know the reason you have one, and vether you has it in the correct conditions and so on. So please, if you vill, tell me about it. I take it that you did not bring it vith you?

OK, I received it as a gift for Christmas. I've wanted a pet dragon for years on end and every year I ask for one from my parents and they've always said no. This year, they got me one. It was a new egg when I received it - the shell was still a little translucent and kind of a reddish colour. I received an incubator from my girlfriend for Christmas and I have been keeping it in that so far.
The reason I want one is that I love dragons, I think they would make good security and I want the challenge of taming it.
My questions are - how long do you think I have to wait for it to hatch? There is a hairline crack in it. Is that a good sign? It's also very warm to touch and the colour has changed to a speckled golden grey. Which one book says is a Romanian Longhorn, another says it's Hebridean Black, but another says if there is any grey in the colour of the shell, it's most likey a Horntail. Also - can one tell if it's male or female before it's hatched, and is a man-made cave with a cage over it a good enough home for it? We have very large gardens at home. I have read all of the books I can find, but they mostly all say different things. And I just want the best for the breed.

Okay, vell the first thing I shall say is that you need to take it out of the incubator now. **holds his hand out as he see Draco looking concerned**
Please do not vorry you have not done wrong. I say this because even though the incubator is very good - it's still fire that's the best, as the mothers constantly breathe fire over their eggs. I assume you has a fireplace in your room? Charm it to hover over the flames. Make sure you take your fireplace off the Floo network first, not that it vill hurt the egg - but hurt the person who lands in your fireplace more. The varmer it is, the quicker it vill hatch. The crack is a good sign although at the current rate it shall take another six weeks to hatch. Putting it under the fire vill mean it might hatch in three weeks. Got it so far?
About the sex of it, and the breed, I really need to see it first to be absolutesly sure. I need to feel the veight of it too. It sounds to me very much like a Romanian Longhorn, in vhich case you are very lucky as they are most amazing, with beautiful horns - and ahh yes I have three of them myself, newly hatched in fact.

Yeas. Vonderfully hard to tame but at the same time, very intelligent. Vonderful creatures.

*sees it and smiles* Mr Vladislav. Listen, I really want to know the sex of it, and the breed, so if you're around England for a while and have some spare time, I'd like you to come round and see it. I'll pay you however much you charge, I have plenty of money.

No, no charge, please. I vould love to come and see the egg. And it is no problem Mr Malfoy, I see that you vill make a very good dragon master, I can tell it by your eyes. How very exciting this all is! I just know you vill be so very proud vhen it is hatched, lad. I must have been your age vhen I had my first egg - ahh yeas, it is such a great feeling!
