Quidditch Practice[1]

[Astoria Greengrass]

*walks out into the desolate pitch wearing full Quidditch gear as it is cold*

*stands in the very middle and takes a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of getting some time to practice doing what she loves*

*mounts her broom and reaches into her pocket, bringing out her own personally engraved snitch and giving it a quick kiss for good luck*

Let's make it a good one, shall we?

*releases it into the air and gives it a few seconds to disappear from view, then takes off to go find it with a swift kick off the ground*

-walks the grounds feeling the freedom of the outside-

-finds herself at the Quidditch pitch-

-looks around then sniffs the air, someone was there but she couldn't see anyone-

-shrugs then sits on the ground not minding the cold-

*sees the glint of the snitch over by the goal posts and zooms off after it*

*chases it around the posts a few times then down almost to the ground before she snatches it*

*slows to almost a stop, a smug look on her face*

Nice one!

*sees movement nearby and turns to see a girl sitting there watching*

Did you see that? It took me what? 30 seconds?

-stands up as a girl seems to come out of nowhere-

Sorry.. I didn't see...

-backs up a bit-

*notices her Gryff robes and tie when she stands up and rolls her eyes to herself*

You didn't see that?

*shrugs*

Guess I was just going too fast for you.

*smirks, then looks her up and down*

You on the Gryffindor team then?

[Ivy Greyback]

I didn't see because I wasn't looking.

-winces as a bit of her fathers anger came out in that short sentence-

I am not on any team.

-doesn't want the girl to know she doesn't know any magic but one charm-

[Astoria Greengrass]

*hops off her broom and uses a charm to make it stand up on it's own, then takes the snitch and tosses it back and forth between her hands as casts a more intrigued look at the girl*

Why not? Do you not like the game? Or...are you no good at it?

I don't know anything about it nor do I care. My life is on the ground not in the sky.

-looks around then thinks-

If wolves were meant to fly they'd have wings

*looks at her like she's crazy*

Are you serious? How can you not know anything about Quidditch? It's what...

*pauses*

Wait, are you knew here? I've never seen you around, now that I think about it. And I'm pretty good with faces.

*takes a step back*

You're not...muggleborn. Are you?

Yes I'm new and no I'm not a muggleborn! I have no muggle in my blood yet I am not a pureblood.

-eyes glint in the way her father would do-

*raises an interested eyebrow*

Really? So what are you then?

*drops the snitch in her pocket and leans against her upright broom*

That is none of your business.

-already hates the girl-

*smirks*

Oooo, the new girl's got an attitude.

*shrugs and takes the charm off her broom*

Don't care really. But if I were you, I wouldn't go around telling people that you're...unpure.

*hops back on her broom and pulls the snitch back out of her pocket, releasing it into the cold air*

Why don't you go read a book or something, Gryffie.

*kicks off, almost disappearing from view within seconds*

-lets a low growl escape as the girl flies off-

-mutters-

Watch your back next full moon

-looks around and walks to the stairs to the stands then sits on one of the benches-

-looks up at the sky as she wonders if her father does know about her or not-
