The skies had been darkened by the rain storms for several days as Marlena looked down into the silver pensieve that rested beneath her slender fingers. The silvery liquid stirred as the blurred visions of her memories began to sharpen before her crystal blue eyes. These were memories that she had long since hidden away. Though at night in her dreams, they began to haunt her. Her sleep was restless as she gazed through the times in her past, sorting through them in hopes to find the cause of her distressed dreams. Though it would seem to her instincts that the recent storms had brought the nightmares upon her. She knew this wasn't just any ordinary magic that caused them.
Releasing her thoughts from inside the pensieve, the liquid grew dark and still as the lightening flashed from outside the nearby window. Gathering her traveling cloak, she headed toward her front door of her castle, where once she opened the huge wooden door, the wind drew through her blond hair angrily and nearly pushed her slender frame back into her home. Raising her arm just over her eyes, she could have sworn she heard a low growled sound. Closing the door behind her, she began to head toward Hogsmeade. Perhaps there she would find answers to things.
The streets were silent as the winds howled through them and the leaves scattered around her. Stores were closed shut as if death itself was making rounds through the cobblestoned streets. With each flash of lightening, her position changed, as she moved like a black cat in the night. One moment the light showed her reflection, and then next she was gone. She felt a presence here this night, one that she could not explain. Perhaps it was the source of the disturbance in the weather and in her dreams. Her eyes shifted as she continued her walk, her senses ever heightened as she began to track down the source of what she was feeling. Little ever knowing that her world would soon change, along with time itself.
