**Gabriel, after morphing into an honest looking older gentleman, walked into the Atrium, casting his gaze over the people, looking for Julia.**
**Bumps into several witches and wizards, flashing his visitor badge each time whilst whispering for his girlfriend.**
Jewel, my jewel? Any luck?
**He cursed loudly as someone tread on his robes, perhaps a trifle louder than he should. He was frustrated, he only wanted to make sure Julia was the victor.**

*barrels around a witch reading by the Fountain, she had managed a visitor's badge but wasn't having much luck act actually getting into one of the departments where she knew the important wizards were*
*feels very out of place with all the busy people bumbling around her and is still distracted that Gabriel thought she needed a head start. She was doing just....fine*

**Quickly spots his flawless jewel through the toilsome crowd, pushing past many witches and wizards without remorse. They were only Ministry workers, after all.**
**Whispers urgently**
How goes it, my sparkling jewel? I have plans to sidetrack the others' route if I may.
**The newly acquired old, honest face was screwed up in concern, the older gentleman he selected seemed unable to hide his emotions and Gabriel was not enjoying this fact.**

*stops in her tracks, looking Gabriel's newest form up and down with a furrow*
*speaks with a flat and strained voice*
I am doing just fine. Clearly.
*turns about, glancing at the elevators, wondering which floor she needed to seek out*
Are the kiddies already here? Do they know you are making this a less than fair competition?

**Makes his voice equally flat, not caring for Julia's stubbornness in accepting his foolproof help in this important task.**
I see. That's why you're still in the Atrium, my jewel.
**Shakes his head, which is full of gray streaks instead of dark blonde.**
No, neither of them have the faintest inkling. You seem to have altogether the wrong attitude about all this, jewels.
**Hisses in her ear, his honest, lined eyes narrowing.**
Do you not wish to be recognized? Do you really want an undeserving child taking your glory? When have any of us, for that matter, been fair in life?

*straightens her back, inhaling to keep focused*
You need...a special reason to get to the lower levels. I'm just deciding which reason.
*flinches restlessly and he continues to explain*
But I can do it myself...I don't need special treatment any more, I was born better than them. None of them will take it, it's already mine.
*narrows her eyes so that they glitter with that Slytherin ambition*

**Can hardly believe Julia will not accept his help, his wisdom. She was being childish in her refusal to receive help.**
Go, then. Expect nothing from me after you win. Or after you fail. You'll be dealing with all of it alone.
**Waves her off.**
Leave me. Find her.
**Averts his eyes, planning on still manipulating the other apprentices.**

*gladly turns, thinking Gabriel is being entirely too paternalistic, had he always been like this, or was she just now realizing how annoying it could be*
*trudges to the lift, and strikes up a conversation with a witch heading down to Level 2*
"Good day to you too, are you heading to work? Me too, first day. So nervous, could you, well, show me around a bit?"

**Leers unkindly at Julia before she leaves.**
**Scoffs and heads toward the fountain, keeping a watchful eye out for his other apprentices.**

*After getting past the entrance with a badge labeled "Sebastian Bordeaux: Interview, Auror Department" he saunters into the Atrium, keeping a sharp eye out for Aurors or other important people, although he's never seen an Auror in his life.*
*Whispers to Holly.*
I should have stuck with plain old "Visitor," they're never going to buy it. I don't look like a boot licking sod, do I? That's their idea of ambition.
*Sighs heavily.*

*looks down at her Visitor badge, nodding in agreement, doing a sort of half whisper*
It's better if you know someone here, they just let you in and around. I used to do it all the time with my parents: "Oh hi, yes, thanks a mil".
*looks around though*
That will probably get you in, and then kicked out just as fast.
*half-heartedly offers up a suggestion, although it's not even that"
You know, Aaron's parents work here.

*Half-smiles, trying to stay positive although he detests the bureaucracy.*
I'm going to wander into it with a swagger and an eager smile, they're going to make me a Jr. Auror by the time I'm through!
*Glances at Holly, brow furrowing.*
So you have a connection? Hol, go ahead and use it.
*Says without conviction.*
He did say to fan out.

Um, yes he did.
*thinks for a heartbeat*
Merlin, I have no idea what I am actually gonna do, I am surrounded by Ministry people probably all staring at me wondering why Mr Palmers' kid is in the lobby and this seemed way more doable back outside.
*pauses*
We should split, I don't want to get thrown out just because I'm with you.

*Places a reassuring hand on Holly's shoulder, which soon moves into her beautiful red hair, where he happily strokes the soft strands.*
Really, go on, Holly. We can't do everything together.
*Laughs, a trifle dryly.*
Go visit your parents or Aaron's parents, tell them you're engaged or something equally preposterous.
*Scans the area, looking unconcerned about the task, having already assumed he would lose and be punished by the Dark Lord already.*

*laughs, but then looks determined*
Yea, good luck though.
*heads to a lift, thinking she how exactly to go about using Aaron's parents' names to get inside the Auror office*
