We have a stats system in place which works in a similar way to Top Trumps.
These are assigned to you by admin after you have created your A-Z Profile.
The word descriptions of the stats are mostly guidelines, not literal and not to be taken as official titles in any way.
They are also not meant to be used in Role Play (e.g. don't tell someone while in character that you are a 4 out of 5 at potions!).
The stats are merely a guide to your characters ability in relation to others, so that you may have a better of understanding of yourselves in comparison. Aurors and experienced Death Eaters are likely to have higher grades than students out of Hogwarts and so on.
They should hopefully be at most use during duels, so that you may have full understanding of your own and your opponents capabilities so that you can have fair fights.
Some stats will not apply to everyone, so they will be left off. If a stat does not appear on your profile then you should assume that you are at level 0.
On a final note, please remember that 5's are going to be very rare, so please do not be upset if you do not receive one.
Also check your character skill level.

These stats have been placed to hopefully solve and prevent arguments between players who may during role play come into conflict with one another. There is a war on after all.
For example, a character may try to read the mind of another using legilimens.
If their stats for legilimens are say 3, and the character they are trying to read are a 2 or less in occlumens, then they will be successful and able to read them. If the victim however is a 4 or more, then they can successfully defend themselves.
Hopefully it should encourage more inventive role play as well.
If in battle with someone faster or stronger than yourself, then you may have to be cleverer with what you do and play to your other strengths.
On the other hand, if you can not find a skill you are better in, then you have a good idea from the beginning that you are likely to lose the fight.
-------------------
Finally, if you feel as though your character has progressed in an area, you may let admin know, showing them the thread that shows proof and they can decide.
Gaining stats will not be easy though. We want good reasons, not any old excuse to bump up the score.
