Dear Severus,
As you know, I am passionate about teaching others of the wonders of Magical Creatures, but I am sure you can imagine that I feel uncomfortable working for a man who has played such a part in causing my wife so much pain and irreparable damage to both of our lives.
I fear we would work in bad feeling and I do not wish that. I do regret this - I have been looking forward to resuming the role of your Care of Magical Creatures professor and I wish there was a way in which we could proceed. However, I do not see how to resolve this problem, so I hereby decline the position of CoMC professor for this year.
