This is a notice concerning anyone who wishes to become a Death Eater.
We find here that a lot of our players tend to lean towards wanting to play the bad guys.
Now there is nothing wrong with that, it can be quite fun to be the villain, but I felt that I should state a few things that should be taken into consideration if you are planning on creating a Death Eater character, or even more so if you are thinking of having your already established character turn dark.
This is an apt description of what types of people would become Death Eaters.
>Weak and cowardly characters who through fear of their own safety would rather do evil than stand up for what they know is right.
>Ambitious, power hungry, self righteous bigots who care nothing for the well being of others and would just like to rule over them, at whatever cost.
>Sadistic, brutal violent criminals who feel that the Death Eater regime allows them to live out their evil urges.
If your character does not fit into at least one of these categories, they probably would not want to join the Death Eater ranks.
Being a Death Eater means being willing to kill, to hurt, to control. And have little or no empathy or sympathy for others.
It would be very unlikely that a Gryffindor ever become a Death Eater, having been sorted into that house because of their heroism, chivalry and good nature. On the other hand, a Slytherin will not necessarily be a Death Eater.
Some characters on the site fit into a more grey area, so may be better off rebelling against the Ministry in other ways, if that is indeed what they wish to do.

A few other notes on Death Eaters:
>>> Death Eaters can not produce Patronus. The patronus is a spell which relies on good intent and nature. The wickedness within them prevents them from casting one.
>>> If some one wishes to become a Death Eater, the only way is to find an existing one willing to take an apprentice. Once they feel that the apprentice is worthy, they can then take them to meet the Dark Lord and he will decide if they should join his ranks or need more training.
>>> Dementors at Azkaban are ordered not to attack Death Eaters, although they still have their natural effect.
>>> Death Eaters will not be trained unless they are at least 18 years of age, due to the brutal nature of their work.
>>> Very few Death Eaters are able to walk among the public. Only a few managed to hide their loyalty to Voldemort such as the Malfoys and the Yaxleys.

"They were a motley collection; a mixture of the weak seeking protection, the ambitious seeking some shared glory, and the thuggish gravitating toward a leader who could show them more refined forms of cruelty."
