Solitude. Inevitable. A fact Roslyn had come to grasp, long ago. Though it was a constant reminder of all she lacked in her life- of the constant emptiness which revolved around the young witch, Roslyn had grown used to it. Besides, it was better to be alone than surrounded by shallow people, who cared for only themselves. A name came to mind at this thought, though Roslyn pushed it away. Not even daring to let the name pass through her mind.
It amlost felt strange walking. Conflicting emotions twisting within- A fragile state of calm, showing for outside viewers- who were too ignorant to see deep enough, through the mask most put up everyday; into the raging ocean inside. Damnable emotions which were the reason she walking yet again; afraid to sit still long enough, for her thoughts to consume her. Through it all however, Roslyn knew she was strong. Life was full of mishaps, and troublesome burdens. She knew she wouldn't break so easily.

Bloody cold weather! I'll blame the snow, that always works. Blaming that git is even better though, and actually makes sense. Merlin, I can't believe I ever thought as witch like Roslyn, a witch as good as her would ever like a dunderhead like me. I didn't even say anything to her, I'm a bloody coward!
*Huffs, his breath hitting the cold air and turning into the wispy mist. He kicks at a pile of snow on the ground, as if doing that would solve all his problems. The force of his kick sends him flying into the air, after slipping on a thin layer of ice. Neville crashes to the ground and exclaims.*
Bloody hell!
*Knows his backside's going to hurt tomorrow, and he moodily decides to stay on the literally ice-cold ground. He narrows his eyes at the offending sheet of ice, not noticing that anyone else was even around.*

Deep in thought, Roslyn nearly jumped a mile- at the sudden exclamation. The scraping of leather against ice, then a sharp ' thud ' brought the witches attention to the source of the noise.
Roslyn almost couldn't believe, the sight which lay in front of her. Neville Longbottom, looking rather peeved, and glaring at what appeared to be the ground. It wasn't really a surprise that he fell. Everyone who knew the shy wizard, knew he was infamous for being very clumsy. The situation would've made her laugh, if Roslyn didn't still remember that night at the New Years Party. And Neville's ill feelings towards her.
*Tempted to walk away; Roslyn simply didn't have the heart. And the sight of Neville still made her already rapid heart beat, speed up* Merlin, at this rate I just might have a heart attack! *Deciding to take a chance, Roslyn took a deep breath and walked towards Neville.*
"A-are you alright, Nev...Neville?" *Her nerves caused her to stutter, and hesitate as she grasped the fallen wizards arm, in a gentle hold and pulled lightly.* There was no way, Roslyn could completely lift him up, but she was trying to lend a hand.

*Also known for being terribly jumpy, Neville was startled by the sudden voice that brought him back from mental images of burning all the snow in Hogsmeade. He looks up, and sees possibly the most mesmerizing pair of eyes he's ever seen. Everything stops in that one moment, it seems that even the world stops turning. He wouldn't care, because Roslyn's looking back at him with so much emotion, a hidden depth.*
I- I- I...w- well...
*Yanks his arm out of her grasp and scrambles to his feet. His cheeks are a brilliant red by now, and the seat of his trousers are damp from sitting on the ice. He swallows, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he looks everywhere but at Roslyn.*
I'm just, yeah, I'm- I've been, great! Yeah, been great.
*Makes a face at how this one witch is able to turn him into an ever bigger bumbling idiot than he already was.*
Thanks.

It wasn't hard to see through Neville's lie, seeing as he wasn't good at lying in the first place. One look at him, and Roslyn could see he'd been anything but great. *A look of hurt crossed her features, causing Roslyn to pull away from Neville. Sensing that he didn't trust her enough to be honest * But then Roslyn mentally scolded herself, knowing she had no right to be hurt. Of course Neville no longer trusted her...and with good reason.
"Well I just...you fell...and." *Roslyn shook her head, mistaking Neville's nervousness*. She could tell her was trying not to look at her, and she wondered if her very presence disgusted him now. " *Holding back a frown, Roslyn forced a weak smile* " I'll just, go..." There was so much she wished to say, hesitation could be seen in her blue eyes. Roslyn didn't want to leave just yet, but she wouldn't force her company onto Neville.
*Turning, she continued walking in the direction she'd been going. Trying to keep herself from running back Neville, and blurting out every apology under the sun.*

*Is so focused on not focusing on Roslyn that he stupidly nods in reply to her comment.* Yeah, mhmm. * as he sees her walking away, and shouts.* No! Rose- Roslyn! *Rushes towards the witch, but is unfortunate enough to slip once again on the same sheet of ice from before. This time, just because the Gods above must be having laughing fits right now, he goes falling forward. He barely catches himself before his face hits the snow, and thinks.* Well, shite. Brilliant job, Longbottom! *Groans, and flips over onto his back, laying down on the snow-covered ground. He's not in terrible pain, it's just that he can't believe he's acting like such a klutz in front of Roslyn.*

*Once again, the exclamation causes her to stop and turn- just in time to see Nevile fall face first into the snow. Holding back laughter, at the adorable clumsiness of Neville Longbottom- Roslyn's frown deepened, in concern, as she realized he'd fallen pretty hard.* "I"m sorry!...this is the second time you've fallen, and this time it's because of me."
*Rushing over towards him, Roslyn knelt next to Neville- helping him to only sit up* She figured it was best he didn't stand just yet. He seemed to always end up falling anyway. "You're going to end up, with loads of bruises if you're not careful." *Mutter a simple warming spell on the both of them, Roslyn couldn't help but fuss over Neville. Reaching over, to smooth down his hair* "Are you okay?"

*Is pulled into sitting position for a few seconds, before he flops back down on his back. He mumbles, loud enough for her to hear.*
M'just fine. A few more bruises won't matter, they seem to like me actually.
*Speaks up, voice louder now as she messes with his hair.*
I'll think I'll stay down here for a bit, can't fall if I'm already down, right? Loads safer down here, honestly, for me it is.
*Squints his eyes, not wanting to ask, but wanting to see her reaction.*
So...how's the one bloke? Sorry, I'm bad with names.

*Not fooled for one moment, Roslyn narrowed her eyes at Neville* She hadn't expected the subject of Theodore to come up so soon. Merlin, she just wanted one moment of peace. That wasn't exactly the case, when it came to him and Neville. "Theodore..." *Roslyn shrugged, not really knowing what to say* "Well he's still a jerk, if that's what you're wondering. But other than that, things are just as they've always been.."
*Standing, Roslyn scowled- just the mention of the prats name, was getting her upset* "He and arrogant, selfish wizard. With no regards for anyone except himself. And I a clueless, unbelievably gullible witch.*

::Strolls along with Amberlin on his arm, having what appears to be a deep conversation, when actually they are arguing of the same cottage for sale here in Hogsmeade.::
::Even though he's not exactly happy with the witch on his arm at the moment, he's still a gentleman enough to catch her lightly around the waist and help her over a treacherous looking patch of ice.::
::Theodore's attention is so drawn on the witch he doesn't even notice anyone else is around.::
...you can always stay over anytime you wish, once of course, that cottage is mine.
::Flashes Amber an award winning smile, still trying to get her to see his side of the situation.::

As usual, Roslyn paid no mind to anyone else, when Neville was around. It was almost as if nothing else mattered, while next to the shy Gryffindor. *Not noticing the two new people, quietly conversing; Roslyn sighed, and held out a hand to Neville.*
She realized there was only so many trips and falls ( emotionally and physically) one could take, before they completely gave up. But Neville was a trooper, and she knew if he didn't get up soon, he'd more than likely catch a horrible cold. Warming spells didn't last forever.

Rose, you're one of the most brilliant witches I know! *Reaches up, taking her hand before pulling himself onto his feet.* Well, besides 'Mione- but that's not the point! *Shakes his head. * D-don't talk about yourself like that, please? You're so much better than that.

The wizard next to her, however, is not as loved as the leather on her feet at the moment. Even if he did help her over the nasty looking ice...* Merlin, Theo, the cottage will never be yours. I absolutely refuse to let you ruin the sitting room with that ancient sofa you have. *Lifts both eyebrows at his smile, because it's not going to be so easy to charm his way out of this one. Paying more attention to the wizard than she probably should, she doesn't notice the other two figures further down the street.*

::Gives Amberlin and incredulous look, he doesn't own anything ancient, and he'd be buying new furniture anyway.::
I don't know what you're talking about, pet. Your taste in 'fine' things is absolutely unfitting to a cottage as quaint as mine.
::The look on Amberlin's face would be enough to melt any wizard's heart, and he'd give in to any of her wishes. Not him, not Theodore. He merely shrugs, and continues to walk along, arm in arm with the witch, down the lane on their way to Honeydukes. It's time for Theodore to pick up another box of chocolate, and Amberlin was smart enough to pre-order hers as well.::
Think of it.
::Releases her for a moment, stepping further out into the lane, looking off wistfully.::
Nott Cottage.
::Flits his arms dramatically as if envisioning a sign saying as such posted up in front of the cottage his is arguing over with Amberlin.:

*A little stunned by his rather passionate response, Roslyn was speechless for a moment. Then a small smile lightened her features.* "Y-you called me Rose." Perhaps it was silly to be so happy over a small thing. But it meant the world to Roslyn. Apparently things weren't completely ruined between them.
*Grinning, she was hesitant at first- but Roslyn pushed away all doubt, and threw her arms around Neville in a fierce embrace. She'd missed his warmth, and his scent comforted her.*
