Looking out over the edge of the Astronomy Tower wall, Vane peered at the grounds growing dim with the sunset down below. It was far quieter up there than down there where small groups of students milled about, chattering about nonsensical topics that could hardly hold the attention of a Troll much less himself. Of course, the Slytherin felt he was above such conversation, though he did enjoy hearing the nasty rumours the student body had an uncanny ability to create. He, himself, had been the cause of a story or two floating about whichever witch, or wizard had earned his disdain for the day. And, on numerous occasions, Vane has been known to add more fuel to the already over-boiling cauldron of whispers that can be heard in the corridors on any given day.
He smirked down to the grounds thinking of nothing but sheer malice for those he couldn't easily recognise from his perch up in the tower so high above the rest of the school. What if I were to drop a few Licorice Snaps from here?, he couldn't help but wonder. He had more than enough of those tasty treats to spare tucked away in the right side pocket of his school robes.
Dipping his hand into said pocket, Vane withdrew an entire handful of the black candies, and placed them in a straight line across the waist high tower wall. I wonder... His eyes passed over each snap in turn, thinking about placing an Engorgement Charm on them to add a bit of weight. Adding weight would only add to the speed that they would gain on the way down from such heavenly heights. More velocity equals more force. More force behind that snap to hit someone, hopefully, right on the noggin.
A tickled laugh escaped from the Slytherin's lips as he retrieved his wand from within his robes before he carefully placed an engorging charm on each piece of the laid out candies. "Engorgio!", he whispered, wand aimed at the small black masses. There wasn't a reason for him to be quiet up here where no one could hear, but as he was about to do something that was probably not on the up-and-up, he went into "stealth mode".
The charm worked...well, like a charm, and the candies began to swell in size immediately, yet he kept their size within the range of a stone. Vane's eyes grew bigger as did his smile. He couldn't wait to see what happened after he began to drop his missiles.
