Snape sweeps into his office and takes his place behind the large desk, the scraping back of his chair disturbing a few of the sleeping portraits around the room, creating some grumbles. Ignoring them, and also not noticing the unusual amount of mess the office was in, he sighed at the fresh batch of parchments placed on his desk; letters from concerned parents, purchase requests for a new batch of brooms and Quidditch equipment needing his signature, applications for the empty professor positions, requests for more potion ingredients, notices from the Ministry, the list went on. He dipped his quill in the ink pot and got started on sorting through the ones he couldn't use an auto-fill quill charm on, the more important ones dealt with first. He was a highly efficient man but this was one part of being Headmaster of Hogwarts he did not enjoy so much. However he did find it oddly satisfying and distracting of his other worried thoughts. Soon there was only the scratching noise of his quill and the auto-fill quill, and the occasional snore from a portrait.

Was already awake and waiting for Severus to arrive back. Lets him settle down for a little while, opens one eye and looks at the man at the desk, then closes it again. Speaks softly,
I am afraid there is something more important than the paperwork, Severus.

The voice, although it was quiet, had startled him enough to make his quill jog as he was writing. Furrows his dark brow and glares at the portrait of Albus as he sits back in his chair, placing down his quill.
Naturally, is not there always?
Awaits, with a raised eyebrow, to be enlightened.

Draws a long breath and opens his eyes looking directly at Severus, looking serious.
Dear Severus. I have told you this before. Now it cannot wait any longer. While you were gone, two men were in here. They used Instant Darkness powder to conceal their movements. I could not see who they were and did not recognise the voices, but they were likely to be Death Eaters. However I could tell there were searching for something, and quite desperately too. It could only be one thing. Severus you must hide it completely. If they know to be looking here, then you are suspected by the Dark Lord. You are bringing danger to Hogwarts and to Harry himself - if it is found, then Harry does not have much chance of success in any battle he faces with the Dark Lord. Tell me, has Harry destroyed any more of the Horcruxes?

Shakes his head.
I have not heard any news that confirms so.
Sits back forward with his head lowered and hands clasped in front of him over the parchments, his dark hair falling about his face, feeling the weight so heavily on his shoulders again. So Death Eaters had managed to get into this office - this was very bad news indeed.

It was his turn to sigh and shake his head.
Alas I fear Harry is running out of time. You must help him immediately. Hide the wand now, do not delay. You must find somewhere safe and far away. When you learn that Harry has destroyed more of the Horcruxes, you must make sure he is master of the wand. If you give him the wand before he destroys the Horcruxes, he may lose possession of it or still not be able to defeat the Dark Lord. After you have hidden the item, you must assist Harry in any way, he needs to find these Horcruxes. You are in a prime position to do so, Severus. We cannot fail him now. He needs your help. *as he speaks, his voice trails off quieter and quieter*
Oh dear, I do feel so tired. Go dear Severus, go now.
*there was a short pause, reading Severus' thoughts.*
Someone let the men in, Severus, your office is still impervious. They came in through the entrance. It would be wise to find out who their accomplice was and deal with them as you see fit. For all the spells and enchantments in the world, you cannot prevent a wizard from carrying out ignoble deeds, dear friend.
His breathing deepens as his head bows, drifting back off to sleep.

Snape rubs his hot temples with his cool fingers, racking his brains for where on earth could he take the wand where it would be safe - should it be near? More risk, but he'd be able to retrieve it in less time. Far away? That is what Dumbledore had suggested. This would take time, but he could not afford to take risks with this powerful item... and what of this fool of a collaborator in the meantime? He would have to deal with that later.

Venus apperated into Hogsmeade that day, pulling her cloak tight about her as she swept from the ally. She kept her eyes low as she walked, making her way up to the castle, finding her way to Snape's office. She sighed, adjusted herself and knocked with a confident firm knock.

Snape clenched his jaw and looked up towards the knock. Constant disturbances were commonplace in his office yet he always found each one to be more irritating than the last. He picked up his wand and waved it subtly, making the heavy stone door start to open. Whoever it was, he hoped, would not keep him too long. 'Enter'.

Venus walks into the headmasters office, pushing back her hood as she stepped up to the desk.
"Professor...I am sorry for not sending word that I would be coming today, but i thought it best to get this process started as soon as possible."
She stood in front of his desk, standing tall and confident.

Nods as he pushes the parchments in front of him to one side.
'A wise decision Ms Tamwell.'
He looked up at her.
'However I have some important business I must attend to that unfortunately cannot wait. If you do not wish to wait until my return, then I will have to pass you over to another suitor.'

Venus nods, taking a quick look around the office. It had been years since she had been in here but it still looked relatively the same. With her eyes now focused back on Snape, she furrowed her brow at the mentioning of other important matters.
"Headmaster, As much as I would love for you to be the one who teaches me, This task can not wait. Whom would you pass me to? There are...certain people whom I have come in contact with that i do not wish to again."

He crinkled his nose, suspecting that he may know whom she refers to.
'Never fear, I have already begun to make the necessary arrangements. A Death Eater by the name of Thorfinn Rowle is currently without an apprentice, and he would be keen to take one on. With my sponsorship, he will be all too eager to meet you.'

Venus nodded, a small smile on her lips. She was eager to start her assignment.
"Of course headmaster. I have heard of this Thornfinn...never come in contact with him though. This would be good. Would you set up a meeting or am I to seek him out?"

Noticing yet another parchment requiring his signature, he licked the tip of a quill, dipped it in ink and signed.
'I will arrange the meeting Miss Tamwell. It will hold more weight coming from me. I am afraid that I will have to ask you to travel to Knockturn Alley. I will instruct Rowle to meet you there, in the Silver Serpent. Take with you this green rose.
*He pulls the flower from a desk drawer and passes it to her delicately.*
It will signify to him that you are the one that I have sent. From then on, I trust you will be very much on your own.
