The world around Lupin swirled and filled with pain. He laid crumpled on a tattered old bed in a dank room in a back alley of Diagon Alley. The clothes that Lupin had worn the night before were torn and shredded, smears of blood covered his face, fingers, and chest. Blinking, Lupin rose from the bed, a hand rubbing his forehead. A terrible headache filled Lupin's mind as he attempted to remember what happened the night before. He had turned last night, that was sure. What he had done after turning was a complete blur.
"Tonks! Lupin yelled as things suddenly dawned on him. Grabbing a long cloak next to the bed, Lupin threw it on his body, using the sleeve to wipe off the blood.

Tonks had not one wink of sleep that night. She paced the floor, going mad at the thought her Remy out there alone. The two were on a harmless quest for wolf bane potion ingredients when the unexpected happened. To be more exact, the Fuilteach's happened. A pair of vampires, one of whom was particularly nasty and wanted for murder, among other things. Long story short, timing was not on their side and Remus was caught on the full moon without his potion.
She watched her husband turn in front of her eyes, and swore to the father of Ophelia Fuilteach, Sanguini, to take his violent, mentally unwell daughter to St. Mungo's. He agreed to keep Remus out of trouble. However, Dora opted for a Ministry cell rather than hospital bed and collected on the reward.
First thing after the lunar cycle was finished, she left little Teddy with mum and took off for the safehouse. A place Remus could go in situations like this, or if their family was in dire need of somewhere to hide. "Remy..." she closed the door to the rundown old flat behind her and called out with uncertainty. Deep down there as a fear he wouldn't have made it back. That he was still out there somewhere.
Never-the-less, wand in hand as always, she took off through the rooms, checking each one until there he was, laying bloodied on the dingy old bed.
"Oh, Remy!" Tonks gasped, frozen there in the doorway at the sight of him.

Lupin's greatest fear, other than a full moon, was the thought of harming those he loved. He could not control his turning, unless he could utilize the skills of a talented potion maker who could create wolfsbane potion. When Tonks opened the door and entered the small room, Lupin's heart leaped, Tonks was not hurt. "Tonks! I am so glad you are not hurt," he said with a deep sigh of relief. Wrapping his arms around her, Lupin felt alot of weight come off his shoulders when he realized that it wasn't the blood of Tonks on his body. For a moment, Lupin was in the blissful state of relief before it dawned on him that if it wasn't Tonks' blood on his body, who's blood was it?
"What happened? Where did you take Ophelia?" The questions seemed to flow from Lupin as if he was attempting to research every possible detail from the events of the previous night. A turning always left gaps in his memory, making it incredibly hard to narrow down exactly where or what he did when turned.

Holding Remus tight she could feel how weakened he'd become. "Darling, I am fine, I was so afraid of you. Oh... thank Merlin you're okay." she proclaims with great happiness and relief. A weight the size of a thousand hippogriff's lifting from her chest. "I couldn't sleep a wink, the whole night I sat watching the moon, just hoping you'd find your way here." she nearly cries.
As he inquires about Ophelia, a great knot formed in the pit of her stomach. "Let's not worry about her right now, yeah? I want to get you home, look over these wounds and get some food in you." she pulls back from his embrace just slightly, and gives him a good once over, looking for anything that might need immediate attention. And then places one hand on his cheek and smiles gently. "My poor Remy..."

Lupin's hand instinctively reached up to clasp the one Tonks had to his cheek. "Food does sound good, we need to be quick though," he said with a soft smile. Looking around the bed sheet, Lupin's tone grew slightly dark. "I don't honestly know where this blood came from, not even sure if it is animal... I hope it is." The thought of killing someone during a turning made Lupin feel ill. He had strived most of his life fighting the prejudice that the wizarding world held against werewolves, to have hurt a wizard would prove to them all that werewolves were nothing more than brutal monsters.
"Did you see anyone leave or hear of anything in town this morning," Lupin questioned as he reached down and began to run his hands along the seems of his tattered pants. "Another pair down, I spend most of my money buying new undergarments."
