*Alecto walked into the classroom with a look of disgust on her face. She waved her wand around the room closing the shades and cleaning the dust off the desks. Walking over to the desk, she picked up a book and began to thumb through it.*
Lies....All lies...
*She threw the book back down on the desk and looked to the door. She didn't know how long she would have to wait for the class to show up, but if she was made to wait a while there would be consequences.*

*A class with someone who was rumoured to be a Death Eater was something Michael found quite exciting. It was almost like anything could happen. He didn't know if it was true of course, it was hard to believe they would allow one to be a professor, but in any case it was still exciting.*
*He strutted in with his bag over his shoulder as usual and nodded to the teacher before finding his place at the back of class.*

Zelda walked in the class room with a small smile on her face. Muggle studies had been a pretty easy class for her, which was understandable seeing that her parents were both Muggles. She noticed they had a new professor, but Zelda really didn't know anything about her. Sitting down Zelda opened her book and flipped through the book, reading bits and pieces that grabbed her attention. She was proud of the fact that she knew a lot of the things they were learning and was excited to see more from a magical point of view.

*It was the first lesson of Muggle Studies for quite some time now. Tina found it incredible how few both, the Magical and Muggle World, knew of each other. Oh, how weird it used to be to learn that her own parents were not just Mom and Dad, instead most people referred to them as Muggles.*
*Punctual as usual she stood in front of the class room, her bag over her shoulder and about to step inside, curious what Professor Carrow would be like.*
*She entered.*
Hello Professor Carrow.
*The girl strode towards the student's seats, spotting Zelda and Michael and offered a smile to both.*
Hey, you two.
*Unsure where to position herself she finally leant over to a chair in the middle, pulling it backwards to quickly sit down.*

*Muggle studies was not new to Wyman. His mother, Linda, a muggle had already taught him much of the muggle things so he need to worry to score in this class.*
*Wyman entered the class.*
'Morning Prof. Carrow!
*He took a seat near the window and started gazing out of the room.*

*Garrett wandered into the class, confused as to why he was required to go to a Muggle Studies class when his mother was Muggle-born, and also he was only a fifth year, and he was pretty sure Muggle Studies was an elective class. Now it seemed it was part of their core subjects. He hoped he wouldn't have to take an OWL on this subject*
*Sits down near the back, wondering if the new Professor really is a Death Eater as is rumoured, and if so, will she will consider him as a lesser wizard because he is a half blood*

Nessa, who was full muggle, knew quite a bit about Muggles. But she still wanted to take the class for whatever reason. Yet it made her nervous. She too had heard the rumors that a Death Eater was taking over the position. That confused her greatly. Didn't Death Eaters hate Muggles? Ah well, she casted that out of her mind as she looked around the class, seeing many of her buddies. One in particular drew her eye, but she wandered over toward the front of the class to sit nearby Zelda, casting a bright smile to the rest of her fellow students.

Rose stepped into the classroom, sliding around the wall to a seat near some of her housemates. Like the rest she had heard the rumors of the muggle studies professor being a death eater but she wouldn't believe it.
"Hey guys..."
She whispered.

Alecto scowled as the students began to arrive. Walking behind the desk she picked up the book again, staring around the room. She heard a few of the students talking and slammed the book down on the desk.
"No talking!"
She looked back at the door then to the class again.
"Is this it? Is this the whole class?"

The new professor seemed to be not in the best of moods on her first day. Maybe it would change at some point, it was what she hoped as kind teachers were always easier to study with. After unpacking her school items she placed the bag under her desk.
"Hi-", Tina was about to greet the others. Then a loud slam made her twitch in shock. She didn't have to look for the cause of that noise for long as Miss Carrow warned them to be silent. She allowed her hands to rest on her knees, feeling embarrassed.
There were indeed a few students missing. Not wanting to answer she quickly looked around.

Alecto waved her wand at the door, locking it. If anyone came in late she'd make a note of it. She picked up the book again and turned it over. She tossed it back on the desk, pointing her wand at it.
"Incendio."
She spoke the word loudly, watching as the book caught on fire. Alecto looked up at the class, walking around the desk.
"Tardiness...Will not be permitted in this class. If I were you...I'd try not to be late, because you wont like the punishment. You wont be needing your books either. The lies written on their pages will not be tolerated in this class. Is that understood?"
Alecto flicked her wand over her shoulder, putting out the flames. "As such...Talking out of turn will not be permitted either. You will speak when spoken to or if called on. I will not be interupted in my class."

Zelda, being so close to the front, was startled by the book catching on fire in front of all of them. She jumped slightly, hoping it hadn't been seen. She, like the others, heard the rumors about this woman, that she was a Death Eater, but she was still a professor and Zelda wouldn't cross her.
She was shocked when she heard her say that the book was all lies. Zelda had read a few things in the book and they were accurate with all the things she had learned from her parents and her Muggle school she went to before Hogwarts. If she was a Death Eater, Zelda wondered if she hated Muggles and Muggleborns, like herself. Zelda wondered if there were any other Muggleborns in the room who were also a bit worried.
Zelda silently closed her book and faced forward keeping the shock and worry off her face as she waited for more information about what they were going to be learning.

*Dinah had signed up for muggle studies thinking it would be easy peasy lemon squeezy. She figured her natural abilities of creative laziness would help her drift through the subject without the devotion of too much time or effort.*
*She had heard rumors about the teacher being a death eater. Dinah had never before met a death eater, not that she was aware of anyway, but she pictured them as being sort of the demon ego on legs. Sort of a number one hell hound. However, her curiosity was greater than her fear, since she was certain that death eating would never be tolerated at Hogwarts.*
*Upon finding the door locked she hesitated, wondering if it was a sign that she should be off busying herself with something more entertaining. Realizing that she couldn’t afford to miss any more classes she knocked on the door with a little dash of delicious fear.*

*He had not read any of the book, but the teacher seemed to know what she was talking about if she was able to tell that it was all untrue. He had little interest in learning about muggles, but it was possible that this professor might make it interesting. Starting a lesson by burning books was something he wished would happen more often.*

Seriously wondering why she treated her own book so roughly, the Ravenclaw followed her teacher's wand movements. Was she aiming for a book slamming record or something?
Tina had assumed wrong, a mere moment later she watched the book burst into flames. Her body demanded whatever control necessary to not jump up in utter shock. A lump built in her throat, her mouth feeling completely dry.
God, why doesn't she put it out? Oh God, why didn't I take the very last row for my seat. shot through the girl's head, but Professor Carrow didn't seem to be affected in any way, informing them about her rules in this room. No teacher liked latecomers, still she felt as if that burning book was supposed to be demonstrating how grave their situation might turn out should they question her authority.
Why did I come here? A fearful glance at the door which was probably locked now reminded her of a certain helplessness.
What were these lies the older woman spoke about? After all she was referring to their school book and Tina couldn't believe that anybody would have allowed Hogwarts students to learn from any sort of untrue information in the first place.
Her body lost a little bit of its tension when Carrow finally put out the fire, running her right hand over her forehead to wipe away a couple of sweat drops. Tina had indeed no intention to disturb this class.
