Rita's jaw dropped at Vladislav's tender testimony for Miss Fuilteach. A tragic romance, ending in insanity and murder, and the handsome dragon tamer left distraught! Oooh, this had "Witch Weekly Exclusive" written all over it! Her quill scribbled furiously, not needing to embellish Vladislav's words too much. They were heartfelt and sincere, and she would have a field day writing this article up.
Then when the trial ended, Miss Fuilteach deemed not a danger to wizard society, Rita's pen wrote so fast she was surprised the parchment didn't spontaneously combust from the friction. Another article on how the court system was too soft on half-breeds, perhaps? Indicating a radical shift in wizard-vampire relations, or something more sinister, or maybe just an example of how bleeding-heart liberals would doom all wizardkind to disaster?
This was pure gold, and she would have so much fun getting it all published! She listened with glee to the mention of Miss Fuilteach being interred at Saint Mungo's. Excellent! Gilderoy was a long-term friend, she could claim she was visiting him, and see if she could bribe a guard to gain access to Ophelia's ward, or else just take on her Animagus form and slip under her door and interrogate her. Either way... this was all a goldmine waiting to happen.
