Sanguini arrived at Saint Mungo's shortly after nightfall, having stayed in his London flat the previous night. After his last visit, when a particularly courageous nurse had the nerve to scold him for coming by after visiting hours, he decided he would humour her, and show his face at a more reasonable hour.
He swept through reception, ignoring a nervous witch who tried to approach him, and made his way to the Janus Thickey long term ward. When he arrived, however, he was greeted by a hospital room that was suspiciously absent his daughter. Her cello, her nightgowns, all the meagre possessions he had been permitted to bring her were still here, but she was gone.
Even the armed guards that normally stood by her door were gone!
He flung his cloak back over his shoulder and stalked out of the room, his face like thunder, and looking for a member of staff. Any of them would do, really. All he wanted was to demand to know where his daughter was, and if the answer did not come immediately or sooner, or was not to his liking, he planned on snapping the miserable individual's throat.

After a particulary satisfying weekend Augustus arrived for his shift at St Mungo's. He'd been out jamming with his friends from the Music School, followed by a hearty meal at a famed restaurant, and an uncountable number of nightcaps at several clubs. As he had eventually talked the magical resources staff into taking a bit of his overtime hours, he had even had ample time to regenerate all Sunday, helped by a bit of weed, and had slept through most of Monday.
Gus felt fresh and happy and entered the hospital full of energy, feeling he could tackle the most dreadful magical casualties.
When he came out of the changing room, he noticed a ripple of negative energy at the end of the corridor. Sanguini stood in front of Ophelia's room, and Gus could have sworn, if that was vampirically possible, he'd be foaming at the mouth.

Sanguini looked up, and as soon as he caught sight of the unfortunate young man, he snarled, and pointed at him. "YOU!" he bellowed, advancing on Healer Pye in fury.
"Where in the name of hellfire and damnation is my daughter!" he demanded, careful not to lay his hands on the young man just yet. He knew the moment he did, he was liable to assault the poor boy in some dreadful fashion. As yet, he still had no idea who was to blame for his daughter's disappearance, but as soon as that changed, he would show them all just what Sanguini Fuilteach was capable of. "She is missing from her room, and I insist on knowing why, and where she has gone!"

Gus made instinctively a step backwards when the Vampire advanced towards him, apparently ready to grab his throat, for whatever reason. Strangling? Biting? All his good mood evaporated in an instant. Ophelia gone?
"P-p-please, Sir", he managed to stutter, "I h-h-ave n-no idea." He took a deep breath. "I am sorry, I was off duty for 3 days, but when I left everything seemed fine. Your daughter was stable, didn't object to taking her potions, and she wasn't upset when visitors came. The guards were there too."
He held up his hands, as if wanting to ward off the irate Vampire, and wished that his Muggle friends were right that some garlic or the sign of a cross would help. It would have made the situation much easier.

"Off duty?!" Sanguini snarled. "That poor wretch of a girl barely gets an hour's peace from her torment, but you can take three days off to go gallivanting wherever you please? Outrageous!"
He crossed his arms, determined not to attack the young man, despite his fury. The boy had not been present, and while Sanguini viewed that as a failing in his daughter's treatment, he now wanted the head of whomever had been watching over the girl.
"Well, I see neither hide nor hair of those guards now, do you? You have five minutes to find out where she is, or at the very least, why she is not in her room. If I do not get answers, I will lose this charming and amiable demeanour of mine and become extremely unhappy." He narrowed his eyes and added in a low growl, "Run along, now."

Gus turned immediately around, almost fell down, and ran to the information desk. There he whispered some words to the witch and then vanished behind her in a small room where medical wizards were allowed to apparate within the building. Minutes later he was back, talked again to the witch who now rummaged frantically in a pile of parchments. Both looked at eachother with a horrified expression, shrugging their shoulders.
He dashed back to Ophelia's room, stopping in secure distance to Sanguini. "I am sorry", he apologized again, "nobody has seen her. There must have been a mixup. Your guards are in the tea room, waiting for the witch to call them when your daughter comes back. For reasons unknown the witch of the last shift signed her out as 'staying overnight with relatives' "
Gus produced a piece of parchment. "Look here, a Mrs Bletchley was visiting and Ophelia seems to have gone with her." He stared consternated at the vampire.

Sanguini was none too pleased. He tapped his foot slightly as he waited, pausing only to hiss at a patient who had come too close and was trying to touch his cloak.
When Augustus returned, Sanguini's eyes were almost black with anger.
"Nobody ..." he echoed, and gave a low growl. "So what you are saying is that you have lost my daughter, and you have no idea whose fault it is, nor where she might have gone?"
He snarled, and snatched the piece of parchment from Augustus' hand. Perusing it, he stopped only to flick his eyes upward to make sure Pye hadn't fled in terror.
"That is quite impossible," Sanguini stated firmly. "My son visited her the same evening, and left at the same time as Mrs. Bletchley. Dante would have informed me if Ophelia had left with them."
He tore the parchment in half, and stepped closer to the young healer, towering over him, and said in a low, deadly voice, "Lock the doors and windows. Lock the entire building down! Check every single room in this wretched place, every corridor, every nook and cranny! Find her, and find her immediately, if not sooner! Because if you don't, Ministry decision be damned, she'll be coming home with me!"

Augustus stared blankly at the Vampire. Couldn't he see he was not responsible? If it had been possible he would have cast an Invisibility Charm on himself and vanished to South Africa or anwhere else where it was too sunny for Vampires.
On Sanguini's piercing gaze, he began to stutter again. "b-b-but, Sir, I c-c-can't lock the p-p-place. Only Healer Smethwyck can."
He looked anxiously around for help. Somebody must have noticed the commotion by now?

Whistling, Lucretia walked up to Ophelia's room, carrying a parcel decorated with a red bow in her hand. She was pleased with herself, having worked all morning to create a present for Ophelia.
First she noticed the familiar sight of Healer Pye.
"Hey, Gus!", she shouted, "Where have you been? The toad they sent with the blood bags last time was totally incompetent!"
Only then she saw a dark figure standing in front of the sheepish looking healer. Sanguini. He didn't seem in too good a mood, but when was he ever. Supposedly the staff had plumped up Ophelia's pillows the wrong way.
"Hello", she greeted him friendly, "Have you come to visit Ophelia? She will be pleased to see you!"

"I care not for excuses or pleading, you gibbering fool! I want her found - yesterday!" he bellowed, and would have struck the young man only Lucretia had appeared by his side.
He sneered, turning away from the unfortunate Healer. "Every second that passes without her presence only serves to further infuriate me. Run, run, run, little wizard..." he said, dismissing the healer with a wave of his hand.
He turned thunderous eyes on Lucretia, and said through clenched teeth, "I had come to visit Ophelia. Much to my displeasure, they have managed to lose her. Her belongings remain in her room, but she does not. And the incompetent dunderheads that run this facility have no idea where she is!"

Lu followed Gus' exit with her eyes, a little surprised. He didn't even seem to notice she was there. "What do you mean with 'lose her'?", she asked Sanguini, while she opened the door and peered in. "I am sure it's not as catastrophic as it seems", Lu added appeasingly. "The other day I talked with Dante about her and she seemed to make good progress. You said yourself all her stuff is still there, so she can't be far. She would never leave her beloved cello behind!"
Lu couldn't really relate to parents missing their children, but by herself she thought that Sanguini always had been a bit overprotective.
"Maybe she has just gone out in the garden and forgot the time? She was better but still had these .. err... muddled .. moods. It could be that she didn't realize clearly in such a mood that she is a full vampire now and had to look quickly for shelter?"

Sanguini continued scowling, unwilling to see the sense in Lucretia's words. Surely though, Ophelia wouldn't have run off and left her cello behind? Unless, of course, she wasn't Ophelia when it came to make a run for it ...
"She wouldn't," Sanguini admitted, adding, "Then again, Sickness would."
He turned to Lucretia and glanced at her hands, looking for her wand. "Can't you use some sort of spell to locate her? Isn't that what you magical folk do?"

Lu nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, Sickness would. Only, I can't see why She would do it now. She has had better opportunities in the past."
Raising her hands and waving them a bit, she shook her head. "I could do more, if the situation was generally wizardy, and if we wouldn't be in a hospital. In here, you can't do much magic, the place is set up not to interfere with what the mediwizards do, so I suppose I can't use the cello for Divination purposes, but I'll give it a try. The second thing we could do, if we are lucky, is trying to find traces of The Trace. I know, it wears off when one is seveteen, but if you work really hard you still can See the remainders. Of course, it would be better if Ophelia wouldn't live on -so to speak- borrowed blood, but in case she hasn't fed outside the hospital yet, I could combine looking for the trace of her donor too."
Which is highly illegal, she added mentally.

Sanguini growled low under his breath, eyes smouldering with fury. "Maybe that's what Sickness wanted us all to think - to think Ophelia was on the mend, that she was more in control of herself ... of course, why didn't I see it sooner!"
He frowned, and turned back to Lucretia, the anger in his eyes lessened by the concern etching his brow. He placed a hand on her shoulder and said in a low, urgent tone, "You find her for me, and I will give you anything you ask for. Gold, jewels, even my own blood! Just find her before these incompetent fools make me want to burn this place to the ground!"

Lu shook her head, smiling lightly. "I don't want your blood, I want Sickness gone forever, as much as you do."
She tapped her wand against the call button, and waited, hoping Healer Pye would be the one to appear. After a moment he came hesitantly into the room with a cautious look on his face. "Gus, I need you to take this room out of the hospital's spell-block for a bit. I won't do anything drastic, I just need the best conditions for a little searching. You can stand guard outside until I call you."
He didn't look too pleased, and avoided visibly to make any eye contact with Sanguini, but eventually he nodded, waved his wand around whispering a spell, and left the room. Lu sat behind the cello, moved her wand around the instrument, placed the left ear against the fingerboard and then put her hands on the top right over the eff-holes. Taking several deep breaths she concentrated. "Memoriam Revelio", she said in a loud and clear voice and shut her eyes.
She didn't know how long she had listened into the wood and the strings when she gave a long exhausted sigh and opened her eyes again.
"One good thing", she announced. "There is no hint at all of Sickness in the cello! I could feel a sort of calmness and some childhood memories, favourite pieces she played and such."
"After that, it got foggy." She looked apologetically at Sanguini. "I think I saw moonlight and bats, and -and that's strange- I think I saw St Mungo's silhouette, but not from the street."
