Theodore's timing was perfect. The sun had just sunk below the horizon and the lake glowed in the fading light. There were fairy lights twinkling all about, and a single swan floated atop the water. Numerous folks from the wizarding community were gathered about, witnesses to spread the word of Theo's future union with Roslyn far and wide, and soft music played seemingly from the water in front of them. The staff of Hogwarts had risen to the occasion, and Theodore couldn't have been more pleased. Everything was perfectly in place except one final and most important detail.
Without needing any prompting, the swan that was innocently swimming in the lake came ashore and took up place in front of the couple. Around the bird's neck was a silver thread that held a very old and greatly valued ring. The diamonds upon it were as black as Theodore's eyes, but the way it sparkled in the shifting light suggested there was a fire within them that his eyes could only hold when settled upon the witch at his side.
"Roslyn...", Theo began, carefully taking the ring from the swan before turning to face her. "I am man that most believe has everything, and up until this moment I wouldn't have argued otherwise. Now it seems, we were all woefully wrong. Without you saying yes, I have nothing. Without you agreeing to be mine forever, I plan to go no further. Roslyn Levere...you are my heart, and without you there is no me. Please marry me, my love. Please agree to be my wife, and make honest people of all us by giving me everything we all thought I had."
His hand shook ever so slightly as Theodore brought forth the ring he hoped to place on Roslyn's finger. The confidence he so often displayed was clearly lost, and he felt as though a spotlight shone directly on his head. Merlin, this was a great deal harder than he thought it would be.

Roslyn had never been one for fantasizing much. It went against her logical nature where she went by solid facts. She just didn't believe much in sitting around daydreaming about something that may never be, when there was so much that needed to be done in the real world to secure her future. She wasn't like other girls that fantasized about their wedding day, heck up until now she hadn't thought she'd ever get there. She had never thought of what she may want it to consist of. Now here she was, the fiance of Theodore Nott. Funny how things worked.
Of course this wasn't the actual wedding day, and for a few moments Roslyn wondered just what this was all about. But in spite of her confusion the site around her was absolutely stunning, a scene right from her childhood dreams. Only then it wasn't for some big wedding, rather a place to escape when she felt blue. Her safety net. And now here was Theo bringing this all to life, she supposed it was only fitting for it to be him. He was her safety net now.
As Theo turned to face her Roslyn turned to face him simultaneously, it was natural for her to seek his eyes out among everyone elses. His words blew her away, causing her heart to soar. She felt as if she could fly for once in her life. Merlin Theo was going to make her cry for the second time this day, in front of everyone. Shaking her head slightly as she looked at him through blurry eyes, Roslyn reached out to grasp his face gently. Her voice shook, thick with her tears as she whispered. "Theo my darling... I have seen the man you are today in you from the first day we met. I never thought we would end up here, but there is nowhere else I would rather be. I will take you now and until the day I leave this earth. Even then darling my love for you will never fade. Yes I will marry you."

Roslyn's second acceptance passed her lips, and suddenly, everything fell into place. This path was meant for Theodore. He couldn't see how his adoration for this witch standing before him had eluded him for so long when nothing before had ever felt more right.
He leaned forward to press his forehead to Roslyn's and beamed with joy "My heart...my very soul is singing." Theodore kept his voice low, as this moment was theirs and rather intimate. This was a side of himself only meant for her. "My body and family are for your protection, my home and land always your refuge, and my heart...well...that's for your keeping. I love you, Roslyn. I'll do anything, anything at all to keep you safe and happy." As he spoke the ring was slipped onto her finger without any hesitation.
Clapping began, softly at first. But, when Theodore finally pressed his lips to Roslyn's, it thundered. The noise reminded him there were others present so, Theo was sure to keep the kiss short but very sweet. "I can't wait until you're officially mine.", he whispered with a predatory gaze before winking. "Now let's not keep your 'friends', they'll eat me alive if I don't allow them to steal you away."
The majority of those invited were folks Roslyn knew. Theodore knew she didn't have many she would actually consider friends, but having people here to support her is what was most important. That, and once these people heard the story the word would spread Roslyn was off the market and not to be contended with.

The whole scene was dream like, in fact Roslyn was tempted to pinch herself just make sure she wasn't dreaming, but then again she didn't want to look like some lunatic either. Her head was swimming, she hadn't yet taken any time to fully let this all sink in, and the heat behind Theo's words caused her heart to skip a beat. She had never seen him bear his soul as he did to her, nor hear such a mixture of honesty and passion in the wizards tone. Roslyn wanted to steal him away right then, but then there were rules to having guests over.
Though her mind was far from the guests, her thoughts solely on the man she was to marry, Roslyn smiled and laughed as she was pulled away from her fiance. She talked and chatted quietly among those she would consider great acquaintances. She had always been a bit of a loner, her friends could be counted on one hand and still have some fingers left. Roslyn could see there were a few faces in the crowd, or rather lack of that she really wished were there. If she were honest there were quite a few people she knew who would not approve. But their approval wasn't needed in the slightest as far as Roslyn was concerned.
There were so many questions. "How did this happen?" How long had they been together, oh and her Favourite coming from a fellow Ravenclaw. "I can't believe it's Theodore Nott Roslyn. How on earth did you manage that?" To which Roslyn only smiled graciously. As far as she was concerned she and Theo's story was their own. Perhaps one day the two would tell all the details of where they began and how they ended here. But Roslyn was very private about her love for Theo. Not for shame but a priceless jewel she knew would never be found anywhere else. She would keep him in her heart, hidden away from prying eyes. Until they were both ready.
Roslyn could handle only so many questions, never missing a beat in her answers, outwardly cool as ice though inside she cringed away. It was all so overwhelming, and Roslyn placed her hand on the shoulder of one guest she had grown up with. "Please excuse me." She turned away gracefully making her way back to Theo. She looked out at the guests, then back at him with a shy smile. She reached to touch the back of his palms with her fingertips, she wasn't used to being surrounded by so many people, she needed a breather.

Several people approached Theodore to offer greetings and congratulations, but very few hung around and attempted to engage him in conversation. He wasn't exactly a warm, welcoming fellow, and he did have a bit of a nasty reputation, those two together tended to put folks off slightly. This didn't bother Theo in the slightest. Being in love and protective, Roslyn would always be the center of his attention, anything else was trivial and mundane. Even through the stiff hug some witch -he didn't care who, she was too insignificant to remember- gave to him, his entire being was focused upon the bride to be.
Many truly appeared to be happy for Roslyn. She was received as the future Mrs. Theodore Nott with hugs, and blessings, and Theo swelled with pride. His fiancée was so graceful, accepting kind words graciously, but there were a few moments he nearly interrupted. As pleased as he was to see so many sets of eyes green with envy when they flashed his way, it was more bothersome to see those same eyes land so covetously upon what is his. He nearly went out of his mind when great hulking wizard winked at him from over Rose's shoulder as he wrapped her up in what looked like a friendly hug, but Theo knew had other implications. It was a pissing contest... He managed to hold it together, though. Aided by thoughts of what the former Gryffindor would suffer when they next encountered each other.
Finally! After an eternity, Roslyn was once again at Theodore's side. "You looked so lovey out there.", he purred, her touch soothing the seething beast within. "It appears the news is mostly well received." There was a flash of annoyance as he recalled the chap hugging his betrothed, but stealing a kiss solved that quickly. "Enjoying yourself?"

"Well it's only those who are for us that matter, yes?" Roslyn offered a loving smile to her beloved, her voice soft. None of the other wizards could hold a candle to Theo, and though she hadn't thought much of any hugs that were held too long, Roslyn knew Theo well enough to know he was always watchful. He would never have to worry about any sort of foolishness, that wasn't the type of witch Roslyn was and aside from that the man beside her held every desire she wanted in a man. It took two to tangle.
"I am enjoying myself." Turning towards Theo Roslyn slipped her arms around his waste, looking up at him. "To not enjoy these moments with the love of my existence would imply the earth didn't spin." Her eyes darkened as they swooped over the wizard head to toe, a teasing smirk pulling at her lips. Her voice was low as she leaned in towards his ear. "And I do intend to keep your world spinning Mr. Nott."

"Indeed. However, even those who jeer wouldn't stop me.", he agreed, returning her smile with as much affection. When it came to Roslyn's loyalty, Theodore was not worried. It was other wizards that he had to keep his eye on. Being one himself, Theo knew what thoughts were brewing, and how little it mattered that Rose was now spoken for. In fact, because she was to become a Nott probably sweetened the deal, and these fellows were likely more motivated as a result. Yes, Theodore would be keeping a close eye...
"I'm glad." Pleased, Theo mimicked Roslyn's actions, and chuckled at her blatant ogling. "Well now, Miss Levere, that very well could take up all of your time.", he amorously threatened as his lips brushed along her jaw. She was so soft, her skin smooth and silky like marble, but it was the warmth that drew a shiver. "The bookshop is sure to be lost without you." Hopefully she won't be going back to that dreadful place.

Roslyn had completely forgotten about the bookshop in the midst of everything. Honestly it hadn't even been a thought until now, and Roslyn felt a big guilty at the fact. Pulling away from Theodore, Roslyn shook her head, placing her hand against her temple. What was she thinking? "I'd forgotten all about that. Merlin, he's sure to be furious with me. Just abandoning the shop." To her Defence being on the run for her life tended to take up quite a lot of her time, however things had settled now. And as much as Roslyn loved the shop, although she didn't want to leave it wouldn't make much sense trying to go back now.
"I can't exactly go back, Theo. But I don't want to just abandon it. I've worked there for quite some time and it meant a lot to me... do you think it'd be too much to make a small donation just to fix the place up a bit? It's the least I could do." The shop was old, some repairs were definitely needed and Roslyn couldn't see why now wasn't the perfect opportunity for that. Her mind was racing as ideas began to form, an excited grin coming to her face.
"I've always dreamed of owning my own bookshop one day. Do you think in the near future that would be at all possible?" She wasn't asking Theo for his money, Roslyn could use her own funds for that, but she did think it would be a good idea for Theo to help. The Notts had a great influence, perhaps knowing that they had a hand in the shop would bring more customers, a mixed sort of crowd. Theo would soon learn that his bride to be was quite ambitious when it came to little projects she'd worked on in the past. Roslyn knew money would never be a problem and that wasn't the reason she was trying to do this. She enjoyed giving back and helping when she could. Besides education was quite important.

How wonderful! If Roslyn was unable to return to the bookshop, that meant there was even more time for the two to spend together. Money wasn't a worry, she needn't have a job. Theodore, in fact, preferred she didn't work. The idea of others looking down their upturned noses at his bride simply because she worked in a dingy little shop didn't sit well with him. Roslyn was meant for much better than that.
What's this? Theodore cocked an unsure brow. Donations? Fixing things up? Owning?
"Slow down, Rose...", he said gently, pulling the witch closer. There was a time and place for everything. Business matters were not ideal engagement party conversation, especially so between the newly promised couple. "You'll have us old and grey before we even get to the altar. We'll talk about books, shops, and any other thoughts filling that pretty head later...at home." As he spoke the last words a wide smile split his face. Home... Their home... All that was his was now hers. Theodore liked nothing more.
"Right now...I want to hold you close and revel in this moment. You. Are. Mine. I can't imagine another man more happy than I." Slowly he began to sway in beat with the softly playing music before twirling Roslyn around the lake. No other night could have been more perfect.

It was a habit of Roslyn to always look towards the future, she was hardly ever content with her present when thinking of all the things she had to do. And there always seemed to be something to do. She supposed Theo was a nice balance to keep her in the present, and slow her mind which was always moving. Giving an apologetic smile, Roslyn's cheeks grew slightly warm. She hoped Theo wouldn't think she wasn't just as thrilled to be his as he was, she was just usually very business focused, but now wasn't the time for that.
"Do forgive me? That was terribly rude of me." The word home in regards to both she and Theo made her stomach fill with butterflies all over again. Roslyn had been on her own for a long time, it was different to now have someone else to consider. To replace the I's with we. The realization was actually quite peaceful. As the two of them danced, Roslyn laughed lightly feeling carefree for once.
