"Certain experiences?" Tallia probed. She'd never interviewed a non-human before, unless you counted Dante... Anyhow, she was very nervous and could feel her heart hammering against her chest. She didn't want to insult him in any way but still wanted the best out of the oppertunity. She kept her grin in place, looking up at him with unblinking eyes.

*smiles sadly, somewhat lost in thought*
Yes...when I was still a young foal I met a rather amazing student. She was a human, and all of my herd was against the friendship. The more we talked the more I realized that humans and centaurs were not all that different. Then of course, there was the time when I helped Harry Potter in the forest, which is part of the reason why my herd continued to think ill of me until my exile.
*paws ground absently with front hoof*

Tallia nodded and glanced down at her quill which was scribbling down everything he said. "So you believe centaurs share traits with humans?"

Oh yes...we have two arms, two eyes, a complex medulla oblongata...but besides the physical I've found that humans, if they are not lazy, are just as capable of having the Sight as centaurs. I have a few promising students in my class now.

Tallia smiled up at him before glancing down at her note pad again. "So, the Sight is very important to centaurs? Do you value humans, like me, who don't have a very strong gift for Divination?"

Yes, of course...humans without the Sight can still be beneficial to their herd...I just relate with humans with the Sight a lot more...

Tallia nodded and looked down at her quill which was racing across the parchment. She took a breath and brushed a curl from her face. "You mentioned you position as a teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Do you enjoy your job there?"

*nods a little then looks down*
Yes, although after I agreed to the position my herd soon-after banished me. I do wish I could be loyal to both Dumbledore and my herd, but that is not possible at the moment. I miss the beauty and mystery of the forest...and I always will.

"Surely your teaching position has helped bridge the gap between humans and centaurs?"

I can only hope it has...but we have a long way to go. There are masses on both sides that will never agree anytime soon...
*looks weary*

Tallia nodded and looked down at the notepad, checking the quill was writing everything he said. "So," she said, glancing back up at him. "If you had the choice now, would you leave Hogwarts and return to your herd, or would you stay living and working along side the humans in the school?"

*meets her gaze*
I am needed at Hogwarts, so I would choose Hogwarts. Times have changed and no one is safe anymore, I am happy to be of any help to humans.

Tallia smiled, approving of his answer. She knew everything he'd said would really endear him to the wizarding population. "Right, moving on from such heavy subjects, I'm sure all my readers are dying to know if centaurs have girlfriends...or marefriends if you like?" She winked at him, using all her journalist wiles. "You know, you'd be quite a catch for a certain lucky horse lover."

*looks down, slightly embarassed*
No...I don't have a significant other, I was always a loner to my kind. And I doubt that any humans would want to be with me...
*sweeps his hair from his eyes and smiles back at her*
I know I'm not the one asking the questions, but...are you single, Miss Gauthier?

Tallia blinked, thinking about Rab. She hadn't heard from him in months. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Was he hurt? Had he been captured? Surely she would have been the first to hear if he'd been arrested. It would be front page news... She snapped out of her little trance and looked up at Firenze again. "Well, yes. I suppose I am single." She smiled and blushed slightly, more embarrased at her little breakdown than the question he'd asked.
