It's true. I- I never told you any of this but... I've hated men for years, ever since I was a student at Hogwarts. Sure, I... flirted and charmed, and broke many hearts, but there was never anyone I was truly impressed by.
*takes a breath*
And, um... when we first met, Rook was all for setting us up... and I kicked and screamed and argued at the very idea, and refused to hear him because of you being, um, something of a 'liability' to our profession- at least that's how I saw it at the time. Rook knew even then exactly how I felt about anyone of the opposite sex, minus him, of course, due to some... negative influences in my parent's marriage and my own father's treatment of me. Did he give up? Hell, no, and when I eventually told him about you, he nearly split his sides laughing with the 'I told you so's.'

I know what you mean, believe me. I know this might be hard for you to understand but... but he's been more of a family to me than my own was. Yes, I love my mother and my sisters, but my father- let's just say he's... a different story.
