*frowns in irritation up her godfather as he Disapparated them, accustomed to her daily walks in the winter air*
*decides not to bother saying anything, though wiping the smirk off his face would have given her great pleasure*
*flings open the door to her cozy cottage hurrying inside before the cold air can breeze its way through*
Get in.
*waits for Rookwood to step inside before closing and locking the door behind him*
*her rarely occuring smile, nowadays reserved for her cat, brightens her face at seeing the Egyptian Mau pad her way across the floor to her mistress as she bends to pick up the animal into her arms*
*her efforts to be polite are less taxing and strained now as she strokes Nile's ears*
I can steep some tea if you like.

*Rookwood found it very tiring to walk the length of the village all the way to Seraph's cottage, and thus thought of Apparating, which did not demand much time*
*He enters the cozy cottage, which was not very bright, gets his hands over his wand and gives it a jerk, causing the cottage to glow in the light of the candles, which were now floating across the room*
*Looking towards Seraph, he says*
Sure! Make one for yourself too..

*is getting even more suspicious of his amiable behaviour- recalls him that way when they first met, but he became more domineering and strict with her as her training progressed*
All right.
*sets Nile down on the couch as she magicks a kettle on the stove to begin boiling*
Accio mugs.
*two mugs fly out from the cupboard to land on the counter into which she drops a teabag in both*
*watches Rookwood carefully from her peripheral vision, trying to read his body langauge*
*thinks*
Ah, bloody hell, screw this.
*rests one hand on her hip as she turns to face him*
Have I done something inordinately wrong and I'm somehow completely dense as to what it is? No offense, Rookwood, but you're so pleasant today, I almost want to gag of the suspense. It's not really like you, or at least, you haven't been like this for quite some time. I can only surmise you've got some thrilling punishment, which might explain your smirks and my cluelessness.
