*after about half an hour of them being quiet with their heads in the books she put down her papers and glanced up at the clock*
Look, class's almost over and I need to talk to the both of you before you go. You've been my only regular students, and possibly the only two who will be taking the Arithmancy N.E.W.T, so you're going to be doing a little more work, if not more but much different, work than the rest in your year. Even though Hogwarts has been in a state of chaotic random turmoil, you've managed not to let it get to your heads from what I've seen - which *she added, smirking slightly evily* is probably more than you think I have. *she continued with a sugared over smile* So I commend you, and wish you the head to study decently for your exams, even though we still have another class left, which will no doubt be similar to the one we had today. I expect you to start studying now, and study hard, or you will loose your heads by the time your exam comes.
*looks up as the bell rings*
Go. Work. I'll see you the day after tomorrow.

*walks in when the bells rings and rushes up to Vector's desk*
Um... Professor?

*doesn't glance up at Aaron until every last tiny ounce of her desk is back in order from the class*
*ignores his attempt to get her attention for a minute and then, managing to rustle some papers about forty times before glancing up and looking as if she just noticed he was there...*
Aaron Tayllore. How come you haven't been in class? I am assuming you're here to ask for make up work from the last too lessons you have blatantly ignored without even a lame attempt to trick your way out of coming, am I correct?
*smiles kindly*

*waits for about ten years before she said anything, but was too freaked out by her to say anything else, since he knew she had heard quite clearly*
*looks at her sheepishly*
I guess you could say that... *says lamely* Sorry, and no, I don't have an excuse, but i was wondering if you would please, please, let me make some of the work up, and let me take my exam.

*laughs*
I can't stop you from taking your exam, and I can't stop you from making up the work. You will make up the work, and I will decide - depending on what mood I happen to be in in that particular moment of time - whether I will count it or not. You can take your exam of course, but, no matter how sorry you are for not coming - which you are not sorry for not coming you are sorry you have to face the consequences for not coming - you will not be able to pass unless you put in the work and time and effort, all of which you have not done.
*sighs, but does not look sympathetic what-so-ever*
You really are smart. Definately a Ravenclaw who lives up to the title, but you care so little, and you hate being here so much. You still don't know what you want to do when you get out of Hogwarts, and I am cocerned.

*nods at the floor as she talks, but then looks up*
Well, considering the circumstances, what career should I take? They all appeal to me less than classes, which, as you have implied, is a great amount of dislike.
*realizes he is glaring and speaking rather harsh - to say the least*

*fixes him with a challenging glare*
Circumstances? You do not need to bother with these unfortunate 'circumstances.' *she replied, insinuating the war*
*sighs, looking slightly ashamed*
Nothing interests you. You have no hobbies, the friends you have you keep at a distance, you care about nothing. Nothing that's around anymore.
*doesn't care if her words sting*
I've been watching you closer than I've watched any other student. You sit in class glazed over like someone dead. You're numb to everything and everyone. I don't want you to spill your deepest hearts desires, longings, and fears to me, but I do want you to listen-to-me. If you keep going on the track you've been going on, here is some advice.
You have nothing holding you back. Don't bother with whatever is happening around you. Graduate from school, and go hunting for something that makes you content. Don't follow the crowd - and yes I realize how cliche I sound - just don't settle for life, find a life you like, and what happens with these 'circumstances' that affects you, deal with it then. Don't dwell on the future, or the past. Get attached to no one - which I doubt you will again - and just live.
*smiles*
But you don't want a life like that. You'd hate it. Just like you do now.

*walks over to the door and opens it, motioning him to get out of there*
Come back when you have an idea. After dinner time is preferable.

*excitedly awaits new eager young minds to teach*
*sarcasm*
*wonders if she'll have decent students this year*
*laughs at the very thought*
*wishes she had snatched a Gringotts job when she could've instead of 'caring about the future of the youth who will one day rule our world'*
*hopes mildly that a student will act up today so she can give them detention and make them clean out her fileing cabinets, which still have work from students who graduated about twenty five thousand years ago*
*passes out beginners arithmancy books to every desk with a bored jab of her wand and wonders whether a student has ever bothered to find out what arithmancy was before jumping into it third year all naive and excited about fortune telling or whatever*
*bell rings. she sighs*

*rushes into the classroom, almost tripping over a nearby chair*
*panting*
Sorry, Professor!
*hesitantly walks to a desk near the front of the room*
*glances at the Professor, secretly wishing the "My day just got worse and it's all your fault" look wasn't directed at her*
So... *nervous smile*
*sets her school bag on the floor before sitting, eyeing the Arithmacy text on her desk with something similar to a feline eyeing a rapid river*
Bloody hell...
*looks back up at the Professor*
How late am I?

*looks up at her, exasperated*
The bell just rang, don't worry. You are quite alright. However, I will wait another five minutes before starting class.
*rolls her eyes*
Perhaps some of your fellow classmates will bother showing up this year. One can only hope.

Wouldn't count on it.
*flipping through pages in the Arithmacy text*
I'm gonna die...

*Sighs as she enters the class.*
Stupid mother. Making me take classes I don't want to. Stupid stars. All stupid twinkling.
*Sits down at a desk near the middle of the class and pulls out a sheet of parchment with all her Head duties on it. Chews her tongue as she reads.*
