Arithmancy Class With Professor Vector[8]

[Antoinette Walker]

*turns to look at the irratated Ravenclaw as she sits at her desk*

*surpresses laughter at the girl, glaring at the parchment in her hands as if it had just personally insulted her*

You look like you're having fun over there...

[Heidi Green]

*Hears a voice and looks over at the other girl, an eyebrow raised.*

"Huh?"

*Looks at the parchment before throwing it into her bag.*

"I thought being Head Girl would be fun, but nooo now I have to show new students around."

*Sighs and flicks through the astronomy book.*

[Antoinette Walker]

*amused by the girl's response*

Well, think of it as an opportunity make sure they know the Head Girl knows what she's doing-

*raises eyebrow*

-at least, I hope you do-

*smirk*

-and that you're definately not waltzing around the school with them for pleasure.

*mutters*

Or I would, at least.

*huffs*

Or scare them. Merlin knows who ever showed me around scared me on purpose! Talking about a three-headed dog and all sorts of other rubbish: a violent tree and what might be lurking in the Forbidden Forest!

*shudders*

[Kai Jones]

*ambles in, taking in all the red and gold that meets his eyes*

*waves*

Helllo, ladies!

[Heidi Green]

*sneers at the younger girl and tosses her hair over her should. Again she wondered why the sorting hat had not placed her in Slytherin.*

"I think I've proved myself enough over the past 7 years. I don't get top marks for nothing you know."

*Raises a perfectly plucked eyebrow when the other girl hopes that Heidi knows how to do her job.*

"If they didn't think I could do my job then they wouldn't have appointed me Head Girl." she snapped, angriliy shutting her book.

*Grins at the thought of scaring younger students.*

"And I'll leave the scaring of the students to the Head Boy - or perhaps that should be charming of the students - it really is his forte."

*Looks up at her fellow 7th year.*

"Hello there." she says dryly.

[Johanna Vane]

*jogs in, half awake as she'd fallen asleep in her last class, her new red highlights all messed up around her face*

I'm not late, am I?

*looks around wildly and notices there weren't too many students in there. Sighs in relief and drops into a desk, running her hands through her hair trying to tame 'medusa' while she takes out her book.*

[Kai Jones]

*shugs, just happy the Head Girl talked to him*

*takes a seat and pulls out one of his notebooks--he doubted they would get him in trouble in this class*

[Julian Montenegro]

*Marches through in his usual way of angry disregard*

*Slams his book next to Heidi and sits down*

Hello, Head Girl. Can we take away points today, I wonder? I'd hate to see Hufflepuff have more than 10.

*Smirks at her*

I wasn't trying to insult you.

*huffs*

And yes, obviously, you know what you're doing since they did appoint you Head Girl.

*tsk tsk*

Don't take it personally, I was only kidding.

[Johanna Vane]

*looks over at the head boy, wondering why he always seems to be like that. Shrugs it off and leans back in her seat and 'zoning off' not really thinking about anything*

[Kai Jones]

*doesn't miss Julian's comment and puts on an agressive badger expession*

[Heidi Green]

*Smiles sweetly at Julian as he sits down*

"Hey Jules."

*Rolls her eyes at him and grins.*

"Lets not make it 'take points off of 'Puffs day."

*Glances at the Gryffindor before looking away.*

"I think the Gryffindorks need their fair share removed as well."

*Proceeds to draw on a piece of parchment, completely ignoring the rest of the students.*

*narrows her eyes at Head Girl*

*turns to face the front of the classroom*

*does not reply to 'Gryffindorks' comment, preferring to keep her mouth shut and keep House points from mysteriously disappearing*

[Julian Montenegro]

*Purses his lips at Heidi, eying her sharply*

I'd rather have you take off... the points, yes. Points. I'll watch the Puffs and you take the so-called brave sods.

*Face turns blank with boredom*

[Professor Septima Vector]

*is secretly thrilled*

*stands up in a very - if possible - loud way*

Last year, *she began, expecting them to shut up and listen* I had three students who actually showed up to class. They were terrible examples and I hope you do not follow them. However, they make good examples for what not to do.

One of these students was a procrasinator, who was very intellegent, a Ravenclaw in fact, who did not care enough about his future to bother doing his assignments until the very last moment. If he had actually put in more effort, he might have done something more other than scrape by to graduate.
The next student, a young lady from Slytherin, was too flighty and captivated by her surroundings to, again, care and take the time to live up to her full potential. If she had focused more, she could've been great. Not saying that she didn't pass. She, in fact, made an outstanding on her NEWT's. But perhaps she could have done more. Unfortunately, those who don't try lose the chance to figure out what they could have done.
This last example I must unfortunately describe to you, was a boy from Slytherin, who was too arrogant and cocky for his own good and slipped by this class on pure luck. He, of course, did well in this class, but he had no willpower for bothersome things like classes, and spent his time in detention with me or doing on disreputable things I'm not discribing now.

Please, I beg you, try your best for once in this class. I would like the chance to see a group of students pass through this school having lived up to their full abilities.

*briskly goes back to her desk and opens a large book full of blank parchments*
