*leaning back in chair, enjoying the outright defiance of the Board's orders for a proper and traditonal classroom education*
So unfortunate, Elena, that I am a bit weak with my charmwork. You'll have to make it stop yourself....
*chuckles and puts on more tea, sorting through his planner*

*Laughs*

*Rushes up behind her with a handfull of snow and shoves it down the back of Elena's shirt, then Retreats to another desk*

*looks up finally, smiles then waves his wand*
*all the snow disappears with a sizzle, just as Elena was about to get Noelle back*
I am sorry, Miss Elias. But I can't have the headmistress barging in on a winter wonderland. how about this...*closes planner*
You can all leave early and go play in the real snow. No, Miss Elias I am not kidding. Class dismissed.

Post by Priscilla Medusa Chimaera on Dec 16, 2007 11:18:10 GMT
As the Professor left the classroom, a shabby-looking owl swooped after him with an envelope obviously containing a lot of sheets. The first one read:
Dear Professor Giles,
I apologize that my daughter was not in class today, she had to come home on the matter of some urgent family business. She has, however, made arrangements have the class recorded and with this notice you will find a research paper she has done on wands and staffs (which was the announced subject of today's lesson).
Kind regards,
Caligula Chimaera.
The rest of the sheets in the envelope, were, as mentioned in Caligula's letter, a research paper written in Priscilla's crisp hand. Four pages of parchment, discussing origins, materials and woodwork, legends, some do's and don't's, wand and staff makers through the ages of particular importance, and some oddities from around the world.
Also, if the professor stopped to take another glance towards the classroom, he would notice the small, enchanted, mechanic, golden cockroach crawling out through a crack under the door, and perhaps faintly remember that at some point, yes, there had been an odd glittering of something shiney from the direction of Priscilla's desk.

*stops a bit down the hall as an owl swoops overhead and drops a bundle od papers. Reads through*
Why, Miss Chimaera doesn't miss a step.
*feels a bit...sad? pitiful?....that Pris took her studies so seriously while he had let Noelle and Elena have a snowball fight mid-lesson.....*
No matter, she will do well come June.
*thinks he hears something....like a rustle of leaves...and look back towards the classroom, but sees nothing*
Right, next lesson will be back on track. Blast the board, I make a mockery of their curriculum.
*continues to his office*

*comes into class early as usual and unpaks his case on his desks. He neglects his daily tea routine and instead heads to his glass cases that line the wall. He takes a few minutes to destress, looking up and down at each of the artifacts and remebering the story behind each one....*

*Walks in and notices the Professor. The air tells her that somthing is wrong and she sets her stuff down*
*Walks slightly closer to him, though still keeping her distance*
Everything alright, Professor?

*turns his head, not liking that he is coming across as lessened of late*
I'm fine, thank you Noelle. The Ministry has agreed to let me continue teaching and the Holidays are fast approaching.
*to himself: It is just, that I came back here to learn more, gain more....I seem to be in a rut, stuck teaching children fancy tricks and dark magic that even the Dark Lord himself wouldn't bother to attempt....*
*to Noelle*You are early, back for another eventful class?
