::Kingsley Shacklebolt had been kept prisoner in Azkaban for quite some time now, meaning Defence Against the Dark Arts Classes were without a teacher until he was freed. Who knew how long that would take, if it ever happened at all. There was a good chance he would be killed before he could even chance to escape.::
::In the meantime, Headmaster Snape had other professors step in and cover lessons, like Flitwick, Alecto Carrow and McGonagall, but sometimes had to drop the class completely. However, on days in which he thankfully had a little less on his to-do list, he personally attended to the class, a little treat for himself. It was no secret that he was fond of the position and as Headmaster he was quite able to assign the class to himself whenever he wished.::
::Today was one of those days and he entered the class expecting a full turnout of students willing to learn.::

Rose stepped into the classroom, noticing she was the first student in there. She went straight to a seat in the middle of the class and sat down. Looking all around she tapped a foot lightly on the floor as to negate her nervousness.

*Dinah tip-toed into the classroom and sat down next to Aurora. Finding herself inadvertently trapped in the same room as Headmaster Snape she forced herself to sit down and suffer through the lecture*

Jennessa walked right into the class, head held high, and a smile upon that bright cheery face. She had little clue what to expect when she came into the classroom, as their Professor hadn't been there in quite a while. Sure she was worried about him, but she loved the randomness she had come to expect when coming to this class. Jennessa walked right into the room, a giggle errupting from her after a joke one of her friends told her on the way here.
Yet the giggle was quickly cut off as she looked around the room, feeling the tenseness of it. She looked to the students already here, Rose and Dinah among them, and tilted her head a little before her gentle blue eyes traveled up to their Headmaster. Her smile didn't waver as she moved to take a seat nearby Dinah, and pulled out her book for the class and some parchment, a quill, inkbottle, and her wand. Anything she figured she might need for this class before glancing to Dinah and whispering to her. "Guess we're being taught by the Headmaster today... What a privilage." This was said with a smile, no hint of snideness or sarcasm in her voice.

*Wyman was tired and sleepy. He walked up the stairs and then into the DADA classroom. He entered the class and just by a glimpse of Headmaster Snape, he was fully refreshed. He forgot his tiredness. He never wanted to be punished. He took a seat that was few seats from Rose. He gave her a smile and then sat down waiting for the Headmaster to start.*

* Wondering how today's class would turn out, the Ravenclaw student occasionally shot a glance at the door to see who would enter next. No matter what was practiced, spells and knowledge were always helpful.*
*Tina's reflexes were okay; working out twice a week had improved both, her agility and speed a little and she could make at least some progress. One moment of hesitation could end in failure or even worse, death.*

*This was a class he enjoyed. Sometimes it was a chance to get a few hits on the annoying Gryffindorks and Huffies, all in the name of learning. He entered the class, swaggering in with his bag over one shoulder as usual, and slumped himself into a seat at the back of the class. He noticed that Headmaster Snape was taking the class today. Hopefully this meant class would be interesting.*

Ever since Dinah had befriended Ellie a few of the other students had given her the cold shoulder. She liked Jennessa’s company, and she had seldom met anyone who could talk even more than herself. Jennessa would go from one subject to another in a way that made perfectly sense when you heard it, but which became madly incoherent and impossible to recount five minutes later* *whispers* Privilege? Are you being serious? I almost get a heart attack just by the mentioning of his name!

Zelda entered the classroom with her eyes focused downward, lost in thought about previous classes that day. She noticed the silence in the usually upbeat room. She soon noticed the reason for it, their Headmaster Professor Snape, was there. Hopefully class wouldn't go too horribly. This class was one she was good at, but could still improve, she only hoped the change in faculty wouldn't keep her from doing so.
She took her typical seat in the front of the classroom, even with the change in professors. Getting out her textbook, parchment, quill, ink, and wand Zelda waited patiently for class to start.

::The class was filling up nicely, but he was not about to wait any longer than his arranged schedule specified. He stood at his desk, leaning on his fingertips.::
Greetings class. My apologies for the lack of Defence classes of late. I am sure you all know by now the unfortunate reason behind this. But it serves as a reminder to you the importance of these classes, especially in these dire times.
::He began to pace up and down the classroom as he spoke.::
Now, can anyone tell me where you are up to? Or should we begin with a refresh?

She was late and she knew it. She only hoped that whoever was taking over DADA would be forgiving. This time it could not have been helped, she'd had to run back to the common room and change after the mishap in potions class left everyone stinking of burnt spices. She'd done this as fast as she could, but she still made it two minutes late.
When she walked in the door and saw Headmaster Snape standing there she gulped. Knowing that her fate depended completely on his mood, she put on her most innocent and apologetic face and hoped for the best.
"So sorry Headmaster, there was an...um...accident in potions class."
Finding the nearest seat she slipped into it and remained quiet. But she couldn't help but be excited to see Snape teaching the class.

::A Slytherin failing in potions did not impress him in the slightest, but he was going to allow the slight tardiness this once. It had been a long while since he had last taken one of these classes.::
Let's hope you can redeem yourself in this class.

Relief showed in her eyes. She smiled and nodded her head.
"Yes sir. I will do my best."
Exhaling slowly, she leaned back on her chair and anxiously waited for class to begin.

No one seemed to want to answer Professor Snape, and Zelda was a bit hesitant, but her academic nature won over. She rose her hand before answering.
"Professor, the last thing Professor Shacklebolt taught us was nonverbal spell usage. We hadn't got too far, first learning the theory behind it."
Zelda's stomach jumped a bit after answering, hoping she she wasn't out of place in answering a bit boldly. Her eyes faced back downward towards her now open textbook, not taking in any of the works, just scanning the page for something to do.

Nessa glanced around as the class was quickly filling up. Of course she knew most of the students here at least by name. A bright smile flashed across her face as she saw Zelda come in, and even giving a light wave to her. It was true, the two didn't typically talk much, but her help in Potions had really made her stand out to Jennessa and suddenly the Hufflepuff seemed to think they were friends.
She glanced back to Dinah, by whom she had seated herself. She grinned a little at her response and shrugged a little bit. "Come on Dinah... He's not that bad..." She grinned playfully at her, hardly noticing that Headmaster Snape was beginning the class. But she did look up, just in time to hear Zelda speak of what they had been last learning. At this point she would pay rapt attention to the front of the class. She loved this subject... Anything to do with wandwork excited her to no end. And she had been very eager to learn the non-verbal spells. She had been horribly upset when Professor Shaklebolt had been pronounced missing, but she was eager to pick up where he left off if their Headmaster was willing.
As to her opinion toward Dinah... She had always liked the girl... Even if she didn't like Ellie one bit... Dinah was still a Hufflepuff and thus one of her own house. And one doesn't turn her back on one of her own house. Ah heck, who was she kidding? Nessa wouldn't turn her back on or be mean to anyone. From the snakes to the puffs, it seemed everyone had Nessa's offered friendship.
A quick glance at where Genevieve and that Slytherin boy from Potions sat, was given. The snakes brought a certain person to her mind, bringing a lapse in her attention, a slightly upset look crossing her gaze. But as she looked back to Snape at the head of the class, her attention quickly drew itself back to the present from the past.
