*Robards was outraged at the idea that they simply allowed Voldemort free reign to do as he pleased simply because he was a wizard. His booming voice was accompanied by some wild waving gestures.*
Poppycock! My Aurors are spending every waking moment in the effort to capture the Dark Lord! The bally tyrant has an army of sadist followers blocking us at every turn! Which at one point included Miss Fuilteach here!
*His anger was out of check and he did not realise the foolishness of his words until after they had been spoken.*

Post by Lord Sanguini Fuilteach on Oct 23, 2011 12:59:30 GMT
Sanguini snarled and got to his feet, fury compelling him to retaliate. His teeth were bared, his body tense. He pointed an accusing finger (tipped with what looked more like a claw than a human nail) at the bearded wizard. "You dare! You dare! You are a fool and a bigot, Robards!" Sanguini growled. "My daughter wants no involvement with that immortality-courting madman, and nor do we!"
There was only one other occasion when he had felt this angry, and that had been the night his son died, and he found the persons responsible. He was not quite at the blind fury stage of his anger yet, but he was close, so very close, and it would go well for no-one if he were to be tipped over the edge.
"If my girl was a Death Eater, I could name the one who recruited her!" he growled once more, dark red eyes boring into Robards'.

Giulietta raised her eyebrows and stared at the man who had spoken, and briefly marvelled at his impressive beard. From his appearance, she guessed that this was Robards, the one Ophelia had said visited her in her cell.
"Dear me, what a thing to say..." Giulietta said softly.
She looked at Sanguini, sensing his rage like an impending storm, and gave Jadrin a meaningful look, seeming to tell him to control the man, before looking back at Robards.
"If Ophelia is a Death Eater, surely she would have a Dark Mark? You may check her arm... if you are courageous enough to approach her."

*Scrunching his lips up and blushing while trying to maintain a straight face while he looked towards Ophelia, remembering the frightened girl he had met, knowing that so-called Sickness was the true danger, he felt guilty for his outburst.*
*He held up a hand and spoke with a little more humility.*
There will be no need. I know her ties to the Dark Lord are severed.
*His guilt stretched so far as to knowing his comment was out of place, but that did not mean he should pass up the chance for information.*
Lord Fuilteach, I should appreciate you telling us anything you know about the Death Eaters, but that can wait until after the trial.

*Fudge was taken aback by the expression on Sanguini's face, and felt himself go white with fear when he saw the older vampire's teeth*
Monstrous!
*He mopped his face with his hankie again and looked at Robards*
Be that as it may, Gawain, surely it is an issue that needs attention? If the vam- I mean, if this girl was a Death Eater before her illness, if she recovers will she seek You-Know-Who out again?

Jadrin hissed in Italian under his breath, apparently ordering Sanguini to sit down and not interfere with the trial again. He turned to Robards and gave him a sardonic bow. "I am sure Lord Fuilteach would be delighted to assist the Auror Office in their fight against the Dark Lord... pending the outcome of the trial."
His point made, Jadrin sat down again. This trial was turning out to be immensely troublesome.

Ophelia was struggling. She could hear her father's voice as an echo at the edges of her mind, like the flickering of a candle on a stormy night - easily extinguished, but a beacon in the darkness. She listened, and she fought. She was weary, and she was hurt, but she battled with the darkness in her own soul, and for a little while, she won.
She opened her eyes and looked at the court, unaware of the little disagreement they had been having. She looked up at Robards, Marchbanks, Scrimgeour, and then looked at Snape. Seeing him through her own eyes after so long made her feel horribly ashamed, and her eyes sought out her father. She gave him a feeble smile, and tried to concentrate on the court, but she was tired, and more than a little hungry.

Giulietta frowned, and fixed Fudge with an imperious stare. "I object to this. I believe my patient is on trial for charges of murder, not for charges of Death Eater involvement. Unless you can provide substantial evidence to charge her, neither I, nor she, nor any other vampire will answer questions regarding such a matter. Furthermore, Signor Fudge," she added, her native Italian starting to creep through in her irritation, "Should you seek to pursue this line of questioning, I will make a formal complaint to the Pale Court regarding Miss Fuilteach's treatment at your hands. Now... can we return to the issue at hand?"

*With one eyebrow arched he looked around at the faces involved in the discussion.*
That would be suitable. I would like to get proceedings back on track.
*Lowering his eyes to his notes he continued to speak, almost bored with the matter. He had remained mostly silent throughout the proceedings, preferring to take the role as observer and make his conclusions when he had enough information.*
We have established that Miss Fuilteach, whether in her right mind or not is guilty of murdering two witches. It is without question that she poses a danger. For this reason it would be wise to have her kept in a high security facility for the safety of the public. Her past dealings with the Dark Lord are irrelevant here, what matters now is that she has killed and she may well kill again.
As I see it, all that is left to decide is where she is sent to be kept under watch and guard.

Ophelia looked up at the Minister for Magic himself, and cleared her throat. Her voice was low and hoarse, the voice of someone whose throat has been screamed raw in recent times.
"Excuse me, Minister? I'd like to say something, if I may?" she asked, and while her daring and her sanity held, she continued. “Please... I've done terrible things. I know that. I wish I could atone for them, but I can't. I'm sorry for what I've done. I truly am. Whatever the Wizengamot chooses to do with me, I will accept your decision. I only wish I could change things.” A blood tear fell from her eye as she spoke, and she barely even noticed.

For a brief moment, Giulietta pitied the girl. Yes, she felt for all her patients, but she could not allow herself to feel too much, or she would risk her ability to do her job every day and not go insane herself, but at this moment, listening to the poor wretch speak, the doctor felt her pain.
She, too, looked at Scrimgeour. "Speaking as Miss Fuilteach's Healer, I would recommend that she be interred in my facility. A rather remarkable young witch has developed a potion that has amazing potential to cure Tepes Syndrome if taken regularly... Signora Lucretia Black is her name, I believe. If it so pleases the court, however, I would be satisfied to sign over Miss Fuilteach's care to Saint Mungo's staff, providing they agree to a course of treatment set out by myself."

*He rose once more to speak.*
I believe Miss Fuilteach should be taken into the care of the vampire community and their experts. They will be best equipped to see to her needs.
*He remembered his original agreement was to attempt to see Miss Fuilteach placed in St Mungos, but he realised that the vampires would prefer this other option.*

*He remembered back to when he and Bonobo had been the crime scene to investigate. It was a mess. The work of a savage beast. He didn't much like the idea of not knowing where the killer was. He remained silent for now, hoping that the Minister would decide to put her somewhere secure where wizards could watch her.*

*He turned in his seat to face Scrimgeour and put in his opinion.*
I believe that Miss Fuilteach should be taken for treatment at St Mungo's behind locked doors. I would suggest that the vampire healers are allowed access to her however.

*Fudge shivered, not liking the idea of this lunatic being able to leave the court without a proper sentence*
Minister, I suggest that the accused be imprisoned. She showed no mercy to the Phoenix girls, so we should not show mercy to her!
