This is brilliant! It will definatly help when both of my characters are role playing with each other as well as other characters! It took three hundred years to sign off and on and off and on. Kudos Eton!

The code has been updated. New features include: - count of available accounts at a glance
- viewing of time left on each account by clicking number showing available accounts
- persistence across browser sessions. [meaning: If the browser is closed and then reopened you no longer need to login each account all over again provided their login duration is still in effect]
The new code has undergone some fairly rigorous testing in IE6,FF2 and Opera9 but if any problems are found please post them in this thread. Should an unforeseen problem occur the code can be easily reverted to the older version.

oh Eton! I was RPing quite happily using this feature the other day and everything was working fine. I was using MSN Internet Explorer which came already downloaded onto the laptop. I tried again today and my Tinkerbell account is fine but when I used the dropdown menu to change to my other character it said I was logged out! Even though I had logged the other account in.
I logged off everything and tried again on just normal IE and had the same problem.

I logged off everything and tried again on just normal IE and had the same problem. Are you logging on all the accounts in the same browser? If you are and the problem still exists then copy and paste this into Internet Explorer's addressbar (after loggin on more than one account): javascript:void(window.clipboardData.setData("Text",document.cookie))press enter or click GO after pasting to execute the script. It will copy the contents of your cookie for this domain to your clipboard (you won't see anything happen but trust me it will) You can then paste that into notepad (do not post it since it contains sensitive information) and see if these values exist... - lidn - should contain the display names of the accounts you have logged on
- litime - should contain the expiration time of each logged in account
- liuser - should contain the user names of the accounts you have logged on
- lipass - should contain the encrypted password for each account you have logged on.
If any of the above values do not match the number of accounts you have logged in then erase the lipass=whatever and the pass=whatever and PM the rest to me.

*bows down to Eton* It works now! Thank you! no problem... Update: added a detection for people with popup blockers enabled in order to avoid an error while viewing time left on each account.

Thank you My pleasure For those that haven't noticed by now, a new feature was added to the Post As code. You can now see at a glance how many accounts you currently have logged in. There is also a details link where you can see the names of the accounts and how much time they each have left before their logon time expires. A link has also been placed in the PM bar that will also show account(s) details when clicked.

Very handy. Thank you so much. You're welcome and enjoy it while you can because proboards version 4.5 should be rolling out in a few weeks if not sooner and from what I was told this code will not work under that new version.

I've done a few rudimentary prelim tests and take back what I said in the previous post, the code just might still work when Proboards releases version 4.5 [codename:Blue Dragon] On another note, I was nice about asking that the code not be released without my consent yet the server where the code is hosted reports over 54,000 hits for the month of September and today is ONLY THE FOURTH DAY IN THE MONTH. Because of this and the fact that my server is now completely useless because my bandwidth quota has been exceeded the code has been removed. A special version of the code has been made available for Malfoy Manor's use but it has mechanisms built-in to disallow use on any other forum except this and the little lost lushies forum. If you stole the original js file then I might pursue further action (such as getting your forum deleted for TOS violation or even recovering monetary damages for breach of copyright as well as ancillary loss of uptime on my revenue generating websites in a court of law)

Eton - we don't need it for LLL as members are only allowed 1 account each and it's not an RP board.
To back up what Eton said, it is unacceptable to take the code when Eton has explicitly requested for people to ask permission first. If you have taken the code, please take steps to amend this issue immediately.
Thank you.

Argh! Help me. I tried to quote someone earlier and now all I keep getting is the following everytime I refresh the board!
'Unable to save quote 0 due to limitation on cookie size. To increase storage capacity consider using a browser that supposrts a global storage mechanism such as Internet Explorer 5.0+ or FireFox 2.0+'
I use IE7!
