*thinks* alcohol? Haven’t I already done that part???
*she poured more alcohol over her tincture – just to be on the safe side – and chucked some greens (peppermint or sage) into it. Happy that the lesson was over for her part she started making a drawing that slashed across the double spread of her notebook. She poured some alcohol over it, curious to see whether it would extract the essence of her scribblings*

*His mixture was finishing nicely. It had been touch and go for a while with his special ingredient, but thankfully the gamble paid off. Probably better than if he had arranged his own ingredients anyhow. He turned to Gen again.*
You almost done?

"When you have finished, please label your vial with your name and hand it to me."
*flashing a fake sweet smile at the students, Lu goes from desk to desk and places thimble-sized goblets in front of each student*
"But before you hand in your elixirs, fill one of these tiny goblets for yourself and drink it up."

Time was up; the frightening moment of truth had come. Waiting for the professor to reach the desks at the back Tina fumbled around nervously with her slender hands and stared into the cauldron in front of her, not sure if her potion would turn out to be good enough in the end.
Writing her name on it was what she did first. Her heart pounding quicker than usual she filled her little goblet with some of the liquid, hesitating. Hogwarts was so different than Muggle schools in many ways. While they warned children not to touch or taste anything, most impossible things could happen here. Scanning her class mates she checked if the others had taken anything yet and did the same. Oh well. Here goes nothing.

*she looked at the professor as if she had gone completely and utterly stark raving mad*
If I wanted to kill myself I would hang myself in a flagpole! I’m not drinking this stuff!

Smiling back at Jennessa she whispered, "No problem," She was glad to be able to help out in a subject that so many of them weren't very good in. Zelda let out a sigh of relief when she finished. Today's lesson had gone better than she expected and she felt she did ok with this potion. She labeled the vial with her name and poured some of the Potion in. She was a bit taken aback when Professor Lucretia asked them to sample some of it.
Well here goes nothing
She poured a bit into the tiny glass and looked around to see if her fellow classmates were doing the same.

Ellie's expression changed from glum to horrified. They were supposed to drink their experiment?! Ms. Black must be out of her mind.
- Dinah! she whispered, hand me the alcohol once more.
She poured an extra generous dash in her ominous mixture before filling the miniature goblet and handing over her flask.
- Alcohol kills germs and desinfects, right?

Jennessa looked over her potion, pretty well certain that she had done alright on it, especially thanks to Zelda's friendly reminder. She labeled the vial she was given and poured a bit of her mixture into it. And yet as Professor Black told them to pour some into the small glass they were provided and to drink it? She blinked those eyes a few times in mild shock, but would shakily obey. Nessa wasn't exactly certain about her abilities in this class, but surely the teacher wouldn't tell them to drink their potions if she thought there was any chance it was dangerous... Right? Goodness she hoped so.
Nessa poured some into the glass and held it, also glancing around the room quietly. It seemed no one really wanted to be first in doing this. Nessa was no different. She met eyes with Zelda, giving her a rather worried look, before looking back to the cup in her hand. It was about the right color, but so much could go wrong with potions... But hey, maybe if she got sick, she could miss History of Magic... That thought made her grin a little, but still she held her glass, not sure she wanted to take the first drink.

Meeting eyes with Jennessa she shrugged her shoulders. She figured nothing horrible could go wrong...right? She lifted the tiny glass to her lips. It looked about right, so she thought nothing too bad could go wrong.
Are you a Gryffindor or not? She thought to herself as she contemplated her options. She hoped her Gryffindor bravery would help her out.
Closing her eyes, she downed the tiny potion serving and waited, hoping that she hadn't messed up anything in the potion that might harm her, but they were in the classroom, she was safe, wasn't she? In the next few moments, life seemed the same, but she then felt a warming sensation inside her. It was a weird sensation, although she knew that the feeling were induced by the potion she still felt good. She smiled at Jennessa genuinely, feeling gratitude along with happiness. In the back of her mind she had the worry that she may have messed up, but that feeling could not get through the happiness she felt that minute.

*Lu manages not to giggle. She knows that the small dose wouldn't harm the students, even if they had messed up the assignment*
"Now what? Courage!"
*she smiles at Zelda who has already downed her potion*
"Zelda, I am very satisfied with your work today. Please, tell your fellow students how you feel, I have the feeling otherwise they won't dare to drink their own stuff."

What the...? Tina's mouth popped open and closed like the little fishes her father held at home. Zelda had actually swallowed it.
In that case the Ravenclaw didn't hesitate any longer; she brought the small goblet to her lips, closed her eyes and drank. A part of her was even curious as to what would happen next. It took just very few seconds until her tensed features became relaxed, turning her lips into a smile.

Zelda smiled back at Professor Black, surprised that she has met her expectations. She like many of them, wasn't very talented in Potions, but as she mentioned before, nothing blew up today, so she must be on the right track.
"Well at first I felt a warm sensation inside me. Almost like when you drink firewhiskey. I feel happy, happier than I've ever felt. It's like everything in the world is just right." Zelda said with a shy smile.
She did leave out the fact that she felt rather jumpy, perhaps something she may have messed up in the potion. The room felt hotter than usual, again, probably just a side effect. But she was pleased with herself. Everything felt right, and she knew the feeling would disappear shortly, but she enjoyed it for the time being.

*she still wasn’t convinced that it would be safe to drink the potion. Even though Zelda knew what she was doing, it didn’t mean that Dinah’s elixir was safe to drink. She crossed her arms and continued to watch the other students, dragging out the time so that Ellie would have to down hers before she would consider touching her own*

*He looked around the room at the rest of the class seeming to be too frightened to take their drinks. He was confident that he had done well and had a fully working potion in front of him. Then the Gryffindork drank first. He wasn't about to be showed up by her, so he took his cup and threw the drink back before wiping his lips with his sleeve.*
*He suddenly felt a bit light headed, but very happy about it, a stupid grin appearing on his face.*

Ellie cast an annoyed look at Dinah. Why didn't she drink up? Realizing no help would come from there, she eventually downed the muddy sauce. A scratchy feeling in her throat and a warm feeling in her stomach was all that happened. Same as with cheapjack brandy.
- Blleeeuurrrggggg.., she uttered. - That's disgusting!
